I had the opportunity to hear your 'sermon' and I just wanted to give some feedback. I agree that there is a inexcusable amount of sexual deviance and you highlighted some of the contributing factors. However, the comment you made about a book about a lesbian couple being taught in school being a correlation for the increased amount sexual deviance is deeply troubling. The rhetoric you use is extremely polarizing, reductionist and the opposite of the message of Jesus. Jesus loved those who were at the margins, and loved them in a way that appeared radical to the religious folk. There were no attempts made at proselytizing, just genuine love. So, if you wish to be like Jesus, you should love in the same way. This means building bridges to those who you think sinful instead of trying to 'save them' by isolating them within your 'ark' which is predicated on exclusivity, a 'holier than thou' attitude and a twisted deeply damaging notion of love. I know you will not agree with me, and that's fine but I would invite you to evaluate me in the merits of what I've said and to a generosity of heart and spirit. If we are indeed living in the 'last days' isn't it better to work as a collective unit towards the goal of demonstrating God's love and the good news, which is our chief mandate and salient goal rather than polarizing ourselves because of ideological differences. The church's one foundation is Jesus Christ. All else is chaff. Let's work towards the goal of unity rather than division, inclusivity rather than exclusivity for the work is great and the reapers are few. Thank you.
