GN Scoops Magazine recently announced the Top Five nominees for the 2019 Diamond Awards. This year’s Diamond Awards have a special significance for Lonesome Road Ministries – Gary Rayburn. Gary is a songwriter and the founder of Lonesome Road Ministries. He has co-written the song, “Taking Me Home”, that is among the Top Five nominees in the category of Christian Country Song of the Year. The song was recorded and released to radio by McKay Project from Columbus, MS and garnered the #1 spot in May of 2018 on the SGN Scoops Christian Country Chart.
The prestigious Diamond Awards have a history of over 20 years, recognizing the best in gospel music from coast to coast. Many of today’s top gospel artists have received Diamond nominations and awards, from Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver to the Booth Brothers and Jason Crabb. The awards were created to salute Christian artists who strive to use their talents to the best of their ability and to God’s glory, and are owned by Coastal Media and the SGN Scoops Magazine.
The Diamond Awards began in 1991, unique at their inception as the only awards totally fan based. Fans are involved from the initial nominations right to the final choice of the recipient. Initial nominations in each category are compiled and the Top Ten of this compilation are then voted upon. This list is reduced to the Top Five based on fan votes, with the final winners to be announced in a gala presentation at the 2019 Diamond Awards, held in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on October 29, 2019. The ceremony is hosted by Dr. Jerry and Jan Goff, and highlighted by special guest artists and award presenters.
The 2019 Diamond Awards ceremony will be held during the Creekside Gospel Music Convention, October 27 - 31, 2019, at the Smoky Mountains Convention Center, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The Convention features daily showcases, evening concerts, midnight prayer, and several special events during the week.
Anyone can vote for the top five Diamond Award nominees at the voting site which can be found on the SGN Scoops website at sgnscoops.com.
