I Remember well the day I met Tony & Candy McMullen in a little Church in Springerton, IL. I had listened to the most powerful testimony I had ever heard in my life and I knew I just had to get it on a cassette tape and pass it out to whosoever on the road.  I ask Tony after the service If I could use his testimony in our tape ministry and he said sure, it belongs to God not Tony Mac.  He gave me a copy and I started duplicating it and we became friends and partners in ministry.  Tony Mac would come to Illinois several times each year after that.  Tony would always go anywhere he was asked to go to share his testimony.  Tony Mac became my friend, my brother, my counselor, my mentor.

This month’s CD we are dipping into the archives for a classic.  We have a double portion blessing for you this month.   Mike Adkins & Tony Mac McMullen was with us several years ago at Rig Ministries.  This night was a real blessing and I know you will be blessed when you listen to these two anointed giants in the ministry.  This month’s CD title is  “Are You Listening?” Tony tells a story about a time long ago before refrigerators of how people used ice houses to preserve their food.  Ice houses had thick walls, no windows, and a tightly fitting door.  In winter, when streams and ponds were frozen, large blocks of ice were cut, hauled to the ice houses, and covered with sawdust.  Often the ice would last well into the summer. Tony told about a man who lost a valuable watch in the ice house one day.  He searched and searched but never found his watch.  His fellow workers also came and searched, raking the sawdust but to no avail.  While the workers were taking their lunch break a small boy slipped into the ice house and closed the door and soon he emerged with the watch.  Amazed, the men asked,   how in the world did you find that watch in there without any light.  The boy replied I just laid down in the saw dust, and after a while I heard tick, tick, tick and I just kept moving toward the sound. The ticking got so loud that I finally just reached over and picked up the watch.

When we are having a hard time hearing God speak, maybe we need to close the door and be still, and then we might just hear God speaking to us.  After all, just as the watch was ticking the whole time everyone else was searching for it, so is our God always speaking to us.  We just need to learn to do as the scripture says, “Be still and know that He is God.”  God loves us and wants a personal relationship with each and every one of us.  I know if we will slow down and get alone with God He has something He wants to show and tell us.  We just might be surprised what direction God is trying to get us to go.  Listen to this message and then listen to what God is saying to you!

Tony would always say, when we go into the prisons we don’t pass the hat because if we did we wouldn’t get our hat back.  So Free in Christ Ministries relies solely on folks like you and me to keep this very important ministry going.

Since Tony Mac passed away in 2016 Free in Christ Ministries has been ran by Tony’s wife Candy Mac and his daughter Michelle Mac. Free in Christ Ministries has been hit hard by the Covid mandates, they have been having a hard time getting into the prisons to minister.  They need your prayers and support...

So today after you listen to this CD or podcast I ask you to find you a quiet place and close the door and pray, ask God, what would you have me give to Free in Christ Ministries. Your gift will help them continue reaching the people inside the prisons. The Scripture clearly tells us we can’t out give God.

Paul says in 2nd Corinthians that he which soweth sparingly shall reap sparingly; but he who sows bountifully shall reap bountifully. Paul ask each of us in verse 7 to search our hearts, so we will not give grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver. and in verse 8 Paul says God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: verse nine says; As it is written, He has dispersed abroad; He hath given to the poor: His righteousness remains for ever. I pray you will be blessed and highly favored for your generosity.

    Gary Rayburn

I logged over 4 million miles as a truck driver from 1972 - 2007 and I have written a lot of it in my songs. God has taken me off the road and put me into full time ministry, but I still have a heart for all you drivers out there.
