Luke 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. ![]() October marks 23 years in ministry. Lonesome Road Ministry was founded in October 2000. From a Cassette Tape Ministry to a CD Ministry, to Podcast Ministry to Radio programs, to now we have our own radio station. There has been so many ups and downs. As you listen to our October Podcast/CD, I will share the first times when I was ready to give up and quit. I called my mentor Ray Sisk and told him the church I was attending and had started the tape ministry at, had decided I could no longer do a tape ministry. I was in tears when I called Ray and he told me that day, and I will never forget his words. Ray said, “Son you done put your hands to the plow, If God has called you to do a tape ministry, then you do a tape ministry. Don’t let no one tell you you can’t. If you’re sure God has called you to do a tape ministry then you do it out of your house, your garage, or wherever you can. You must do what God has called you to do.’ Fast forward 23 years later and over 3 million cassette tapes, CD’S and now we are switching to making Collector Cards with a QR code on the back that folks can scan with their phones and bluetooth into their vehicles to listen to our podcast. I remember when we switched from Cassettes to CDs for quite some time we were producing both tapes and CD’s until the tapes were eventually not requested. That is where we find ourselves at again. We are making CD’s and the Collector cards both and we will continue to make both as long as there is a demand for CD’S. We will continue to make the CD’s for those who still want them. But we need your help ! Due to winter we have so many damaged and broken CD’S, starting in 2024 we will try and start sending out newsletters and the podcast cards. So if you would like to continue to receive the CD’s just drop us a line in the blue envelope provided and we will make sure you receive your CD. We want to be good stewards with your money you send us. The postage and cost of CD’s continues to rise. So we need your help! November & December we will be sending out CD’S & Newsletters same as always. We are willing to continue sending out the CD’s to all who are listening and passing them on so don’t hesitate to let us know your preference, CD’S or Podcast Cards. But we do need to hear from each of our listeners by 2024. We refuse to quit! There is no place to quit when you sign on to serve God. God called us to this ministry and we will continue to reach the lost, broken hearted and confused souls all across America and into all the world with this media ministry. The vision of Lonesome Road Ministry has not changed, the methods may change but the message stays the same. We are to go out into the highways & hedges and compel others to the Lord. Using whatever tools God places in our hands, CD’s, Podcast Cards, Bibles, Testimony Books, Radio Programs and now Lonesome Road Radio! Together we can make a difference in the lives of OTHERS The Card Above is to help others find our Radio Station and the card below is to invite others to our Conference call line. We are also partnering with the Midnite Crusaders to stretch a net across America. Come join us and be a part of our growing family. We can send you these to share!!! We are also printing brochures to invite Trucking Companies to join us. We are inviting them to partner with us and let us advertise their company and help them get some great Christian drivers. We are now offering advertising spots on Lonesome Road Radio for whosoever would like to advertise their business or company to our listeners. You can call 618.383.2107 if you are interested in partnering with us to stretch this net across America. We offer affordable advertising for you and your business or trucking company. The easiest portrait for an artist to paint is a self-portrait. The artist intimately knows their own features and all they need is themselves, a mirror and the right light. Plus, when the artist is ready to paint, they are always ready to model. Added to this, they have the luxury of reworking their own image until it is exactly the way they want.
On the other hand, there are numerous problems painting someone else’s portrait. The subject may not be available when the artist is ready to paint. The subject may be a fidgety model. Then, on completion, the subject is rarely satisfied with the finished result. As Christians, we should be constantly working on our own “soul-portrait”. We do this by looking into the Mirror-of-the-Word, illuminating ourselves in the Light-of-Truth, and painting with Brushes-of-Faith. The more we practice the better our technique and our soul-portrait will be composed of graceful inner beauty and coloured with Christ-like attributes. However, as we work on our own portrait there is always the temptation to dabble in other people’s paintings. When we hear an inspiring message we think someone we know needs to be hearing this. Or, when we read a compelling article we apply it to someone else – instead of ourselves. It’s not a bad thing to want loved ones to hear messages that have personally impacted us, but the problem comes when we get frustrated when they show lack of interest. The fact is they may not be ready for that information at their present stage of growth. We should stop dabbling in other people’s portraits and concentrate on our own Christian image. As long as we are alive we are a work in progress. If we use the right techniques, eventually our soul-portrait will have a striking resemblance to that of Christ and when we exhibit ourselves to the world people will start asking (without coercion) what joyful colours and inspirational methods we used, so they can apply them to their own soul-portraits. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

Mark 10:52 . And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way. ![]() The first move always belongs to us. It’s a choice what we do with this Man called Jesus when we hear about him. This story of Blind Bartimaeus has so much in it. When he heard that it was Jesus coming down the road Bartimaeus had to make a choice in his heart what he was going to do. Each day, each week we have to make a choice what are we going to do with this man called Jesus that lives in our heart. It is a choice. Soon as Bartimaeus heard that it was Jesus he cried out to Jesus, many charged him to be quiet but he just cried out even louder because he knew this was his one chance to be healed. Then the Bible says Jesus heard him and stood still. That is what happens when we cry out to Jesus with all our heart, Jesus hears our cries and he stands still. We get his attention when we cry out all the louder. What happens next is amazing, Jesus calls him and the blind man cast off his beggars coat, that identified him as a beggar. Jesus is calling many of you today and it is time for you to cast off those chains that are holding you back from achieving what Jesus is calling you to do! When this man cast away his coat he knew he was never going to need that anymore. Jesus said what do you need? What can I do for you? The blind man said, “ Lord, that I might receive my sight.” Jesus said, “ go thy way, thy faith has made you whole.” The Bible says, and immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way. Today is the 1st day of the rest of your life. What are you going to do with this man Called Jesus? ![]() What is Lonesome Road Radio all about? Cliff Clark also is a big part of our programming he does a couple different programs “Wait a Minute” a short devotion that runs periodically throughout the week and a little longer devotion that also runs through the week called “Just Saying.” Since the CD’S are being phased out we have had to search for new ways to continue placing the Good News in the hands of those out there on that Ole Lonesome Road. Ecclesiastes 4:12 Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken" ![]() It’s still crazy!! We started our 3 Fold Cord Conference over 10 years ago in Carmi, IL and I thought this is crazy! It was and still is to this date. We had people drive hundreds of miles to come to our conference to sing, praise the Lord, give testimony and to hear powerful speakers. What started out as a one day conference quickly became a three day conference, because we had so many that were excited and glad to be there that we started a day early and ran for 3 days. This year we had over 100 people who came from 18 different states just to be a part of this crazy 3 Fold Cord Conference. The Lonesome Road family has an incredible bunch of people that just love Jesus so much that they will come from hundreds of miles away and donate their time, talent, and money to make sure that our conference is a success and that Lonesome Road Ministries is able to continue sharing the Gospel through our CD/Podcast programs, our radio programs and now our very own internet radio station. Lonesome Road Radio to this date has reached all across America and we have went into over 32 different Countries. I give God all the credit for this successful ministry, because he continues to send people into this ministry to help us reach all around the world. In 2015 God sent a man of God to help raise us up to levels I never thought or even dreamed of. In 2015 my wife was laid off and my salary got cut in half. So we had lost almost 70% of our pay. I told my wife Linda we would try and hang on till the conference was over in June, then I would have to find me a job somewhere else just so we could survive. It looked like the ministry was coming to an end. Long story short, God sent a man of God into my life by the name of James Payne and saved our ministry. I remember James told me that weekend God had sent him to help me if I would just listen to him. I told James that day, “I’m all ears.” He said, “you send out newsletters and CD’S every month, but you don’t put a donation envelope in with them.” I said, “well I don’t think I should ask for donations.” James explained putting a donation envelope is not asking for money, it is letting people know that we need help doing what God has called us to do. It also allows them to plant seed in fertile ground and sets them up for God to bless them. Since that time our donations have kept this ministry alive and also planted us in our very own building which was paid for by donations. James has been with us ever since 2015 and he comes every year and gives his time, talent and gifts to Lonesome Road Ministry helping us to continue what God has called us to do. I have heard a lot of James Payne messages and he talks about sowing into ministry. All those messages I have heard from James Payne I have never heard him ask for money for James Payne Ministries. He is always asking for OTHERS! That is the kind of people that we have here at Lonesome Road Ministries. So we thank you for all your love & support you pour into our ministry and all those who are part of Lonesome Road Ministries. If you are looking for good fertile ground to plant seeds in, you will find it through Lonesome Road Ministries and Lonesome Road Radio. Please help each one of our friends and family as they continue to do what God has called them to do. Let’s get crazy for God!!! see answer below!Have you heard of KFC Hour? Aires 11 am with rerun 11 pm Saturdays on "Lonesome Road Radio" It's one hour of pure armature hosting, we do things a little different. Meaning we don't know what we are doing but are sure having fun doing it, Bruce and Stephen acting like radio host). An hour of great gospel music from Kansas folks and beyond. Most of them, you probably haven't ever heard of. Also our pathetic attempt at humor, some interesting facts from our crazy world! Stephen usually shares scripture, and tidbits of our daily lives. You can catch up with past episodes by clicking here! The bottom line, is we love JESUS and have a crazy way of sharing! What did the pastor say to a man with Twitter addiction? -Sorry, I don’t follow you.

This year Joe Arview has agreed to come with us and help minister to the folks in the area. Call Pastor Jeff Lewis for details or directions. 260-610-5133 ![]() What an awesome conference we had this year. It was our 10th 3 Fold Cord Conference and everyone agreed it was the best one yet! We had folks from 18 different states show up to praise the Lord. Lonesome Road Ministries is blessed to have an incredible family. We had a full house both Friday & Saturday and some of the most delicious food. Everyone came because they wanted to be there and no one got paid to sing or preach. Everyone was there to pour out into Lonesome Road Ministries and the generosity was overwhelming. Enough money was donated so that we can continue on. We raised money for 2 duplicators and we just ordered 30,000 more podcast cards to distribute all across the country. We also raised enough money to pay for our radio station another year, so I want to encourage everyone to tune into LonesomeRoadRadio.com. The Podcast cards and the radio station is the future of Lonesome Road Ministries. If we are to continue, (and Yes we are to continue) we have to start promoting our Cards & Radio Station. We had such a great weekend I can’t tell you everything, but it was an awesome time. Hopefully we got some of it recorded, but we did have some recording issues. This may be one of those times you had to be there. It was streamed on Pure Gospel Media. It was also streamed on Lonesome Road Facebook Podcast page. If you didn’t get to watch it you still can. It was reported they had over 6,000 views. Everyone wanted to meet more than once a year so we have scheduled Ava Kasich & Tamie Pernie for Aug. 18th. Come join us!!! Do you know? Answer at bottom of newsletter! Why didn’t they play cards on the Ark? - Because Noah was always standing on the deck!

What are you asking for? This is a powerful message by Dr. David Gibbs that was sent to me by one of our partners out in Colorado, (Ken Wolf.)
I called Ken up and thanked him for sending me this wonderful message by David Gibbs. Ken told me he just loved David Gibbs and listens to him all the time and when he heard this message he knew he needed to send it to me. Ken said I’ve been listening to David Gibbs ever since I heard my first message by him that I had sent to him years ago. This is such an encouraging message that after I listened to it. I contacted David Gibbs office and invited him to speak at our conference June 28,29,30 next year in 2024. So I am asking all of you to be in prayer with me that God will direct David Gibbs to come and join us in 2024. That is what I am asking for after listening to this podcast. As you listen to the CD/Podcast, pray and ask God for something impossible in your life and then call us or write to us and we can pray about it together. We are praying for God to bless us in ways that we never thought or imagined and you need to pray that way too. To bless in the biblical sense means to ask for or to impart supernatural favor. When we ask God’s blessing, we’re not asking for more of what we could get for ourselves, we are crying out for unlimited goodness that only God has the power to know about or to give us. This kind of richness is what I believe the writer of Proverbs 10:22 is saying. The Lord’s blessing is our greatest wealth, all our works adds nothing to it. In other words it’s not about us, it’s always about Him (Jesus) and always about reaching and helping others. God is looking for those who want to do more for Him! So why not ask? God’s bounty is limited only by us, not by His resources, power, or willingness to give. God has something bigger for each one of us no matter where we are right now. That is not where God is going to leave us! We all have seasons in life when we feel overwhelmed. When unexpected things happen, we can be tempted to get discouraged. We may feel like we don’t have what it takes, or we may feel weak. Anytime you feel this way, you have to realize that feelings aren’t facts. The truth of the matter is that God wants each one of us to get to the big pool in our life. When we get in over our heads that's when you learn to swim. We need to get filled up to overflowing and go out and splash on someone else's life. When we make our life about helping others, that is when we find the real rewards of life. In the words of my mentor ( Ray Sisk), “Others, yes others, let this my motto be! Help me to live for others Lord, so that I might live for thee!” Scripture says, when you feel weak, that’s when God’s strength rises in you. His strength will overcome any opposition you may face. So together through prayer we can do the impossible. So join with me and let’s pray for the impossible to happen in our lives and our friends & families lives. ![]()
Our 10th year will be a very special conference. We are celebrating by bringing Gaylon Taylor, who God spoke to about doing a 3 Fold Cord Conference way back in 2012 in to be one of our speakers. Our first conference was in 2013 at Carmi and this year will be our 10th Anniversary of the conference.

We also have some great speakers lined up for this years conference. Colossians 3:23
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. ![]()
Revival is birthed through a passion for Jesus. Whether it’s Azusa Street in the early 1900’s or Asbury, KY of today. The common denominator is a people longing to feel the fire in their soul. We hear it preached from every pulpit in America, how we want to see revival, we want to see God move. Each and every one of us has said it, we want to see God move.
Jesus Christ, when he walked this earth as a man, had been given the Holy Spirit without measure. That’s why he could say in John 9:5, “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” Then on the day of Pentecost, after the Lord ascended to heaven, he fulfilled Joel’s prophecy of pouring out the Holy Spirit upon all flesh. The body of Christ was no longer the body of just one man, but is composed of all Christians. That is why the Lord can say to us Christians, “Ye are the light of the World.” That is why Jesus said in Matthew 5:13, “Ye are the salt of the earth.” In other words, it is as John wrote in his 1st epistle, Chapter 4 and verse 17, “As Christ is, so are we in this world.” If we truly do want to see a move of God, then we, as Christians need to get moving! We are the light of the world! We are the salt of the earth! We are the body of Christ and it is up to us! The best way to start a revival is to start one in our homes, then let it spill out into our neighborhoods and from there across our city, state and country, and into the uttermost parts of the world. Jesus said in John 17:18 “As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.” In John 14:12 Jesus said, “he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also, and greater works.” We want to see the power of God fall from heaven. It fell, and it fell on us! Only Christians can move out in the power of God and change someone’s life and be the light in someone’s dark world. We want to see God move? Let’s get moving! Lonesome Road Ministries is excited to be on the road in 2023! We passed out thousands of Bibles,Testimony Books, CD’S & Podcast Cards at the Mid America Truck show last month. This month we will be in Eureka Springs, AR April 8, 2 - 5 pm at the Church in the Grove on the passion play grounds. There will be lots of great music, testimonies and I will bring the Easter message. If you can make it, we would be honored to meet you. I know you will be blessed by the great music we will have that day. Jim & Ann Davenport has been the pastors of the Church in the Grove for the past year. They have shown their passion for Jesus by selling their home in Texas and moving up to Eurekas Springs to pastor this Church and volunteer their time at the passion play. Jesus said to his disciples, “Follow Me,” and they have done just that! They have sold out to Jesus and are following His call to follow Him. As you listen to this CD/Podcast you will find out all about the passion of Jim & Ann and how they continue to serve the Lord with all the passion they have. They are dear friends of ours and we have been working alongside of them in the ministry ever since we began a cassette tape ministry in Oct 2000. Jim & Ann have several music CD’S and what a great way to support their ministry by calling them and ordering some of their music. ![]()

What makes a good fisherman or fisherwoman? Good fishermen arrive at the right spot at the right time. They come prepared with the right equipment. They know something about the fish they’re after and choose the right-sized hook and bait to attract the fish. Most importantly, once a good fisherman casts the line, he or she patiently waits for the fish to nibble. If the fish likes the taste, it’s not long before it’s hooked.
As Christians, we should all aspire to be good Fishers-of-Men? Sadly, all too often, we ignore the rules of the good fisherman when evangelizing in the unsaved world. We choose a spot and a time that is convenient to us (usually when and where the fish are not biting). More often than not, we arrive unprepared and unequipped. We bring no bait (patience, compassion and tolerance). If we do happen to see a fish (someone interested in the Word), we zealously dive in, causing a frightful splash as we try to catch the fish with our bare hands. Tragically, the result is always the same. (Matthew 4:19) ![]() The Easter Bible Story - While Christmas observes the birth of Jesus, Easter remembers the main Christian event: Christ's suffering, crucifixion, and resurrection. For Christians, Easter is the remembrance of Christ's voluntary death and resurrection to save humankind from sin and death.

This month’s message is called “Pardoned” and as you listen to this testimony and hear about all the sin that Richard was involved in and how he received a presidential pardon from Gerald Ford on December 23rd 1975. Richard talked about this pardon and said “it wasn’t his until he received it and got it in his hands.” But Richard said “it didn’t compare to the pardon he received from Jesus on March 16th 1969 when he received a pardon from our Lord Jesus Christ.” He walked into Church that day and had absolutely nothing, but he walked out of there that day with everything. Jesus had gave him a pardon for all his sins he had ever committed. This is just a smidgen of what our 3 Fold Cord Conference will be like this June. Awesome music by Joe Arview and many, many others who will be with us. Also great testimonies & preaching from Richard Coss and many others. Just Like Richard, Jesus wants to do the same for each and everyone of us, and our house. In Acts chapter 16 verse 31 it says Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.
So we invite you to listen and then share this CD with others. I know the CD players are fast leaving but we have made a way for you to listen to our CD’S even if you don’t have a CD player. Each CD has a QR code on the label that you can scan with your smartphone and listen to our podcast which is basically the same as our CD’S. Most smartphones have a scanner included and you can use your camera as a scanner, Just focus your camera on the QR code and when the website pops up just click it with your finger. In the event your camera will not work as a scanner then you must go to your app store and download a free scanner. We also have collector cards for our podcast that you can collect from us just like the CD’S and they are free for you to order and share with others! So please contact us and let us send you free CD’S or Podcast cards or both. God has a free pardon for each one of us and our families, it’s ours for the asking. If you pray and ask Jesus into your heart today then call us and let us know. God is just waiting for you to ask, believe, and receive this pardon He is offering to whosoever will just ask. In 1st John 1:9 the Bible says; If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I love this verse for it says ALL unrighteousness, it doesn't say some, it says ALL. And ALL means ALL and that’s ALL it means. 1st John chapter 5 verse 13 is a great verse. It reads; These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. That is a promise from God that he will never leave us or forsake us. This is assurance that we may know, that we know, that we have salvation and we have an eternal home in heaven. So if you have never asked Jesus into your heart then do it now and you can have that assurance of salvation. A simple prayer; Lord Jesus forgive me for my sins, take out my stony heart and give me a new heart, and I will live for you the rest of my life. Amen ![]() We have been asked many times if we can receive donation by telephone and the answer is YES! We also receive donations through our website with paypal apps. A very rich man sat at his dinner table and watched his three children fight over the TV remote. He decided to make his children an incredible offer. If they would stop what they were doing and come to the table as a family for dinner, then join him to clear away the dishes, he would reward them generously. He told them that after dinner his private jet would fly them to the best theme parks. Then they could tour the world and visit any location they personally desired. Added to this, they could invite all their friends and the same offer would be made to them.
Two of his children leapt eagerly from their chairs and joined their father at the dinner table - this was an extremely generous offer not to be missed. They were so overjoyed, that spending ten minutes afterwards doing the dishes was just an opportunity to discuss the fantastic wonders to come. As for phoning their friends with the invitation, that certainly wasn’t a chore. However, one son didn’t join the family dinner - his favourite show was on. He gave away the opportunity of a lifetime to watch a half-hour sitcom. When we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are ‘reborn’ into God’s family. As our Heavenly Father, God has made us a generous offer, which makes the offer described above look dull. God has said, if we join our family at the table (Christian fellowship), help with the dishes (Christian service) and invite all our friends (evangelize), He will give us fantastic rewards, far beyond our imagination and expectation (2 Timothy 2: 11-13). What we do in life ‘does’ have repercussions throughout eternity. Life is so small compared to forever – less than a half-hour sitcom. We would be pretty stupid not to switch off ‘life’s distractions’ and join the family dinner for an eternity of riches. But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9.

2023, who would have ever thunk it! We begin our 23rd year of ministry here at Lonesome Road Ministries. This month’s CD we have some great testimonies by Joe Arview about his songs and also about a great hymn, I Have Decided. You are gonna love these stories by Joe. As you can see by the above picture we now have many ways to get the message to you. You can play the CD or simply scan the code with your phone to listen to this month’s message. We have come a long way from when we first started a cassette tape ministry in October 2000. I am reminded how that first tape ministry failed and how heart broke I was. I thought, well I tried but I failed, I guess I will just have to quit. I called my mentor Ray Sisk down in Appling, Ga. Ray had a ministry called I-20 for Jesus that I followed and simulated when I began Lonesome Road Ministry. I called Ray and told him, the Church told me I couldn’t do a tape ministry there anymore. I told Ray I guess I’m just going to have to quit. Ray told me that day, “Son you done put your hand to the plow, you can’t quit. If God has called you to do a tape ministry, then you do a tape ministry. You do it out of your garage, your house or where ever you can but you can’t quit.” So I decided right then, there’s no place to quit. When God calls you to do something, you must do what God calls you to do. The devil has been trying to stop this ministry now for over 22 years and I refuse to quit. We just ordered another load of CD’S and the price has almost doubled. The postage continues to go higher and higher but I won’t let that stop me, we will continue to send out free CD’S. Even our Collector Cards we are just getting started making, yeah you guessed it, the price of these cards are going up too. Satan is a liar and a thief and he come to kill, steal and destroy.
But the good news is, Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly. I get calls everyday from folks all around the country asking me what my opinion is of the state of our country. Many people are wringing their hands and crying woe is me!!! I will tell you, that makes our job even more important than it ever was. We must keep our hands to the plow!! We are to shine the light of Jesus to our family, friends, & neighbors, and as for me and my house we are going to serve the Lord! God called each of us to be that light in this dark world. We are blessed & highly favored and He has called us to shine our light so others might see Jesus in us. As Ray Sisk told me in 2001, son you done put your hand to the plow you can’t quit! You keep on doing what God has called you to do and He will continue to lift you to higher levels to reach more people. So I decided in 2001 that I would not quit no matter what. Today I have decided no matter what happens or how ridiculous the prices get, I will keep on keeping on for Jesus. There is someone out there right now that needs to see the light of Jesus in us. It might be a family member, a friend, or a neighbor; but God has someone for us to witness to today. If every Christian was to shine our light in this dark world it wouldn’t be long and this dark world would start changing. I have decided to keep on witnessing and shining the light of Jesus everywhere I go. Join with us here at Lonesome Road Ministry and we can make a difference in someone’s life today. We might not reach everyone, but we can make a difference to the ones we do reach out too. We must take up our cross daily and follow Jesus. I will not quit until I hear well done thou good and faithful servant!

Gary RayburnI logged over 4 million miles as a truck driver from 1972 - 2007 and I have written a lot of it in my songs. God has taken me off the road and put me into full time ministry, but I still have a heart for all you drivers out there. Archives
