CD / Podcast for June
Ecclesiastes 4:12 And if one prevails against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not easily broken

What If?

Picture
What if every Church and Ministry was to get together for one cause, wonder what we could all do together?

What if, all  Churches and Ministries got together and decided to win our City, our County and the surrounding area for Jesus.

What if we put our denominations aside for one cause, one reason, to win our area for Jesus and to see souls saved, people healed, people changed.

What if  there was a way we could all work together and agree that people need Jesus in their lives?  I wonder what would happen to our homes, schools and our community.  It’s sad that it takes a tragedy like a mass shooting like we just witnessed or a devastating storm of some kind to get people to pull together. The Bible tells us a threefold cord is not easily broken.  Jesus said; “A house divided against itself will not stand.”  Together we can withstand the storms that are headed our way, divided we will fall.  Well there is a storm going on right now in our communities and our eyes are blind to it until it hits our homes.  We need to band together, the Churches and Ministries in our area and win back our community.  What if we started taking the Church on the road and present the Gospel to people where they are, in their homes, workplace and wherever we run into whosoever.

What if we handed them a CD, or a gospel tract? Jesus spoke about the power of agreement in Matthew 18:19: "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven."  Don't put any limitation on this Scripture.  Jesus says what He means. We can receive anything if we agree about it in prayer.

The Bible says that one can put a thousand to flight, but two could put ten thousand to flight.  If we work together in unity we can reach our area for Christ. In the book of Jude verse 22 it says;  And some have compassion, making a difference. When we read this verse we need to take it to heart.  Compassion means we should feel for those who are lost and do something about it. Compassion should put us into action!  We might not reach everyone, but what about the ones we do reach.  We can make a difference in someone’s life today.  Together we can do so much more. One can put a thousand to flight but two can put ten thousand to flight. A three fold cord is not easily broken.  Working together will strengthen each and every person, Ministry, Church. Working together we can stretch a net not only across America, but all over the World.

A New Beginning

Deuteronomy 28 1-2    And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:   And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

God is the author of new beginnings.  October 19 2020 God moved this ministry into our own home here at 107 Sycamore St., Keenes, Illinois.  We have completely remodeled this Church into a ministry home for Lonesome Road Ministries and we are now debt free.  We started this ministry in the basement of our home in October 2000 making 25 cassette tapes a week and taking them with me in my semi and passing them out on the road.

Deuteronomy Chapter 28 starts out saying
IF (this is the key word I believe) you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully ALL (another key word) His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.  And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God.  Those are powerful Scriptures and the next 12 verses in Deuteronomy are equally powerful.  I know I heard the voice of God speak to me to start a tape ministry in 1999 and I struggled with the Calling God had placed on my life because I knew I wasn’t capable.

When I finally realized that I wasn’t, but God could do anything with a willing vessel, I surrendered and started a tape ministry many months later in Oct 2000.  I have tried to listen to His voice and do what God has asked me to do and He has blessed this ministry tremendously since.   We went from a Tape Ministry to CD Ministry and Podcast Ministry. Then we got invited to do radio programs.  God has sent me all over the country sharing my testimony and Ministry from California to Florida and many states in between.

In 2020 God spoke to me to move this ministry back home from Carmi and I asked you all for your help and you got behind me and we were able to purchase an old Church building in Keenes, IL just 3 miles from my home.  Because of all of you we were able to buy this building and remodel it and we are now debt free.
Now that many of the newer trucks and cars no longer have CD players, I have been praying and asking God for our next step in this ministry.

Picture
I traveled down to Nashville to the Religious National Broadcast Convention in early March searching for direction for this ministry.  I spoke with many radio stations about airing our broadcast.  I felt like radio and podcast was the next step for this ministry. I was praying and asking God to open doors for our ministry to be picked up by some of the radio stations. God has lead this ministry every step of the way since we began in 2000.  I heard the voice of the Lord say start your own radio station.  So once again we are stepping out into the unknown and we are starting Lonesome Roads  very own radio station.  God promises us that He will bless us in the city and the country in Deut 28: 3.  This verse says there is no limit to God’s blessings.  Wherever the obedient person goes God’s favor will follow. We are boldly believing that God is going to bless us with the finances we need to get this radio station up and going and maintain it so that we can continue this ministry far beyond the tape ministry He called us into in 1999.  We are praying for God’s blessings to flow to all who plant tithes & love offerings in this fertile ground.  God bless each and everyone of you who partner with us by listening to the CD’S and passing them on to OTHERS.  We are working on cards to have for everyone to share with others to guide them to our radio station.  We hope to have this in place by the end of June.  We thank you all for your help & support.  Read Deut. 28 verses 1-14 and claim these verses for your life and your families lives.

This month’s CD/Podcast is another unique and powerful testimony by Alice McCormick.  God has sent Alice to Lonesome Road Ministries to help us stretch this Gospel net across America.

My Road to Lonesome Road

Rev: 12:11  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

We just got a call from someone who was handed a CD, “Life’s Lonely Highway” testimony of Kevin Nelson.  Kevin & Rachelle Nelson of Sonshine Road was singing in Florida and they were passing out a lot of our free CD’S.  Robert said he just had to call and tell us how blessed he was by the testimony of Kevin Nelson that he had listen to after leaving the concert.   He told me even though he was saved and serving the Lord he just had to call and talk to Kevin.  He shared with me his amazing testimony of how God was using him, then I gave him Kevin’s number so he could talk with him.   I am just so blessed to get to talk to so many who call and share their amazing stories of how God has saved them and is using them to reach others.  What a privilege it is for us to work with so many great people.

The Bible tells us we are overcomers by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.  We have the power to defeat our enemy the devil through Jesus with our testimony.  I have always said the most powerful sermon we have is our own testimony.  We love sermons and we use many sermons in this ministry, but the most powerful format we have are the testimonies of our partners here at Lonesome Road.  God spoke to me over 22 years ago to put my testimony on a cassette tape and put some of the songs that God was giving me on a tape and take it on the road and share it with other drivers on the road.  That was the beginning of Lonesome Road Ministries and since then we have put out many different testimonies of folks who love Jesus and just want to share their stories with whosoever, wherever, and whenever they can.  We have also put out a lot of powerful sermons to reach the lost, hurting, and confused souls out on that ole Lonesome Road.  God has brought us all the way from a tape cassette ministry to where we are now.   We have freely given away over 2 and one half million free messages on Cassette and CD’S.  This ministry has been successful because of our partners who help support and pass out our messages.  God continues to change us, but no matter what method we use, cassette tape, CD, Podcast or Radio, the message stays the same.  We have found that there are many roads to Lonesome.  Each person has a unique story to tell about how God has intervened in their life.  We look forward to hearing your story of how God has saved you and is using you to reach others.

We are looking forward to many more years of ministry and helping spread the Good News!  As many of you know the CD players are not being put in the new cars, and trucks so we are having to find new ways to get the message in the hands of those on the road.  We are excited about the future of our ministry and the new home God gave us here in Keenes, IL.  I believe God gave us this new home so that we can not only reach folks in the surrounding area but continue to reach lost and hurting people across America.  So, we want to thank all our friends, family and partners who are helping support and share the CD’S and radio programs with so many families, friends and neighbors.  I believe God is going to be raising us up to a new level very soon and I am hoping to be able to reveal the direction God is sending us at our conference in June. Come join us June 24,25,26 for our 9th 3-Fold Cord conference. So, remember Jesus Loves you and wants to use you to reach someone today.  Share your testimony, we are overcomers by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.

We just got back from Louisville Kentucky, from one of the largest truck shows in America. We had such a great time sharing with so many others. We gave out 2600 Cd's as well as other ministry materials to the public in attendance. Below is a few pictures from that event.

Below is a live podcast Chaplain Gary Rayburn gave March 11th 2022 at the NRB Conference in Nashville Tennessee! we would like to give a big Lonesome Road HOWDY and THANK YOU to the folks at Christian Crusaders.
One last word about them. Besides Chaplain Gary's testimony, they have some really good podcast to listen to.

We will all eventually die.  If the Bible is correct, there is an afterlife with heaven, hell and judgement.  What is your plan to reach heaven?

Many think: Well, I’m a relatively good person and so when I die I’ll just hope for the best.  Others may add: I’ve been baptised, gone to communion, plus I give regularly to the church and charities – I think I’ve ticked all the boxes.
It’s ironic that many people, including Christians, think going to heaven depends on what we do.  When asked about the relevance of Jesus Christ and the Cross, most scratch their heads; they don’t see a connection between their going to heaven and what Christ did on the Cross. Many people consider the Cross simply a symbol of Christianity – a story told at Easter how a good man was wrongly crucified and miraculously rose from the dead.
Fact is, if we could earn our way to heaven by good deeds or religious rituals, Christ died needlessly on the Cross.  If we could save ourselves by our works, there would be no point for Jesus to die for our salvation (John 3:16).
The Bible states: we will never be good enough to save ourselves (Eph. 2:8-9) – our works are filthy rags in God’s sight (Isaiah 64:6) – we need to be born-again (John 3:3) – and become a new creation in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17).
To enter the kingdom of heaven we need God’s perfect righteousness.  This is the whole point of Jesus being judged for our sins and dying on our behalf.  Christ is the only door into heaven.  If we accept the gift of salvation by believing in Christ, we receive His perfect righteousness and are instantly adopted into the family of God.  Alternately, if we are hoping our good deeds or religious rituals will save us; sadly, we are in for a very rude awakening.
We need the Cross.  Christ is our salvation – believing in Him is the only way into heaven.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6.
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9.

This month’s Testimony CD from Cliff Clark is a reminder from God that He wants to use each and everyone of us!  Cliff starts out telling us about how God set him up to reach a lonely trucker who was running from God. This month’s testimony CD will have you laughing and crying, but most of all it will let you know that God is not through with you yet.  God is still wanting to use each and everyone of us to reach someone for Him..  As you listen to Cliff’s testimony I pray you will hear God’s voice asking whom shall I send?

Today can be the beginning of something brand new in our lives, our ministries, our churches, our homes.  God wants to bring us to a new level, if we will just take a step of faith and follow Him!   God has something special, something unique for each and every one of us if we will just reach out and grab it. Most of the time it requires us launching out into the deep, claiming territory we are not comfortable in, or in other words getting out of our comfort zone.  Many times it has us doing things we just aren't capable of doing, but with God all things are possible.

In Luke Chapter 5 verse 4 Jesus says to Simon, launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.  Jesus used this moment to turn these ordinary men into mighty warriors for the Gospel.  These fishermen when they saw who Jesus was, they left everything and followed Him!  This was the beginning of their ministries, and today can be the beginning of something brand new for each one of us.  We too need to see who Jesus is in our lives and we need to say, “ Here am I Lord, send me,” use me to make a difference in the lives of others.

God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called.  God specializes in using people who aren’t naturally qualified to accomplish His tasks.  God isn’t looking for impressive people; He wants willing ones who will bow a knee in humble submission.  Being weak and ordinary doesn’t make you useless, rather it positions you for a demonstration of divine power in your life.  God takes insignificant ones and delights in making them mighty warriors. God is saying to each one of us, “Whom shall I send;” Then said I, “Here Am I Lord, Use Me…”

June 24 & 25 our 9th 3 Fold Cord Conference will be right here at our new location for Lonesome Road Ministries.  We will have some of the best in country gospel music, testimonies, awesome food and some great preaching.  James Payne will be here again this year and my Pastor Rick Hays will bring a message on Saturday.

We are expecting Richard Coss to be returning along with Jim & Ann Davenport, Roger Barkley Jr., The McKay Project, Ava Kasich, Sonshine Road, Mike Wellman, Bill Schell, Joe Arview and Jessica Horton will be making her first appearance at our conference.

Sunday, on the 26th, we will be moving the conference up to my home Church at Orchardville for Sunday School 9 am and Worship at 10 am. I can’t wait to introduce Lonesome Road Ministries Family to my Orchardville Church family.  Pastor Rick Hays will be preaching a message at our Conference on Saturday at Lonesome Road Ministries and he has asked me to bring the message on Sunday at Orchardville Church.  I am pumped up and excited about this year’s conference.

Just when I think it can’t get any better, it gets gooder.  That’s a Tony Mac word and you will hear his name mentioned a lot at the conference.  Tony Mac McMullen remains a huge part of our ministry.  We still get tons of calls for his testimony CD and Tony is still leading people to the Lord through this CD/Podcast Ministry.

This month’s CD/Podcast is a great message & testimony by Joe Arview “Have A Little Faith.”  It brought to mind this great story I have shared on our radio program we do on the Dave Nemo Show on Sirrus/XM Channel 146 on Sunday mornings.

It was an extremely severe summer the fields were parched from lack of rain, and the crops lay wilting from thirst.  People were anxious and irritable as they searched the sky for any sign of relief.  Days turned into arid weeks.  No rain came.

The ministers of the local churches called for an hour of prayer on the town square the following Saturday.  They requested that everyone bring an object of faith for inspiration.  At high noon out en masse, filling the square with anxious faces and hopeful hearts.  The ministers were touched to see the variety of objects clutched in prayerful hands – holy books, crosses, rosaries.

When the hour ended, as if on magical command, a soft rain began to fall.  Cheers swept the crowd as they held their treasured objects high in gratitude and praise.  From the middle of the crowd one faith symbol seemed to overshadow all the others:   A small nine year old child had brought an umbrella.

Jesus said in Mark Chapter 4   Why are you so fearful?  How is it that you  have no faith?  This is why people become afraid--because they lose faith.  Faith is the answer to fear. Faith is always the answer to our fears, regardless of what they are. Jesus put His finger right on it: "Do you still have no faith?"  And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

When we go to church,  or when we go to God in prayer, let’s go expecting to receive.  When we have childlike faith God will hear our prayers. Whatever we need let’s go expecting to receive from the Holy Spirit.

It's All About Prayer

Happy New Year everyone!!! We are looking forward to a brand new year and a brand new level God has raised us up to. This month’s CD/podcast is a testimony by Charles Stephens “It’s All About Prayer.” Over the past 20 plus years we have sent out many powerful testimonies and some awesome sermons, but I feel that this month’s testimony by Charles Stephens is one of those that you will just keep on listening to and gleaning those precious nuggets from God. God is going to speak to you through this CD/Podcast to do something that you might think that your not capable of doing. So, it’s time to get out of the boat and walk on water! So why not ask? Ask God what would you have me do for you. Watch your faith prevail into something that God can use.
My very first prayer was when I prayed a prayer of salvation and asked God to save me, and the next prayer was when I asked God to use me. That was in 1995 and for the next 5 years I read my Bible and prayed for wisdom, strength, courage and knowledge. Oh and God, I am going to need a whole lot of discernment please. In the year 2000 I found myself teaching a Sunday School class and my class bought me the book, “The Prayer of Jabez,” for my birthday. I started reading that book and praying the prayer that is in the book asking God to please bless me, and enlarge my territory. Let your hand be on me and guide me so that I will be free from harm and free from pain. God please use me to make a difference to people all across America as I travel this Ole Lonesome Road. And God granted me what I asked for.

Prayer is the key that unlocks the door to your success that God has for you too. So don’t be afraid to ask God for anything and when you ask, expect Him to not only answer but to bless you beyond anything you could ever dream hope or imagine.

Talk about a day of defining!!  I have been blessed & highly favored ever since that day that I cried out to Him, over 26 years ago. There has been so many defining days in my life since I took up my cross and started following Jesus. I could write a book.
I have shared my testimony and my story so many times over the last 26 years.  We have sent out closing in on 3 million tapes & CD’S since  God birthed this ministry in October 2000.
Picture
On October 19, 2020 God gave us a new home to house this ministry.  We moved in October of last year to this our new home and completely remodeled this building.  Bought and paid for by each and everyone of you who sent your love offerings in to help us continue this ministry to all those on that Ole Lonesome Road.
We opened this new Home to you in June  with 3 days of praise & Worship.  On June 26 2021 James Payne and all of you who were here dedicated this house to the Lord’s work.  That was a defining Day in our Life.  We  not only dedicated this house for the work of the Lord that day we also raised enough money to buy a new CD printer, 2 new computers, 2 new duplicators to continue God’s work. A Day of Defining!!!
Don’t you just love it when God gives you those defining moments or days in your life when you can look back and see His hand at work in your life?
I can’t wait to see what God is going to do with this Ministry next?

Since our conference, which by the way we recorded the whole conference and made a 9 CD set for all those who ask for the conference CD’S, we have had several come in to give testimony.  We plan on having a whole lot more folks coming through to give testimony and get it on CD so they can share with family friends, and neighbors.
This ministry has always been about testimonies.  I believe your own personal testimony is the best sermon that you have.  It’s a great way to witness to those around you.  There are many times you run into someone for just a few minutes and you might not have time to share your testimony with them but if you have it on a CD you can hand it to them and send it with them and they can listen to it when it’s convenient for them.  God has big plans for this ministry as you will hear on the podcast or CD A Day of Defining by James Payne.

I Remember well the day I met Tony & Candy McMullen in a little Church in Springerton, IL. I had listened to the most powerful testimony I had ever heard in my life and I knew I just had to get it on a cassette tape and pass it out to whosoever on the road.  I ask Tony after the service If I could use his testimony in our tape ministry and he said sure, it belongs to God not Tony Mac.  He gave me a copy and I started duplicating it and we became friends and partners in ministry.  Tony Mac would come to Illinois several times each year after that.  Tony would always go anywhere he was asked to go to share his testimony.  Tony Mac became my friend, my brother, my counselor, my mentor.

This month’s CD we are dipping into the archives for a classic.  We have a double portion blessing for you this month.   Mike Adkins & Tony Mac McMullen was with us several years ago at Rig Ministries.  This night was a real blessing and I know you will be blessed when you listen to these two anointed giants in the ministry.  This month’s CD title is  “Are You Listening?” Tony tells a story about a time long ago before refrigerators of how people used ice houses to preserve their food.  Ice houses had thick walls, no windows, and a tightly fitting door.  In winter, when streams and ponds were frozen, large blocks of ice were cut, hauled to the ice houses, and covered with sawdust.  Often the ice would last well into the summer. Tony told about a man who lost a valuable watch in the ice house one day.  He searched and searched but never found his watch.  His fellow workers also came and searched, raking the sawdust but to no avail.  While the workers were taking their lunch break a small boy slipped into the ice house and closed the door and soon he emerged with the watch.  Amazed, the men asked,   how in the world did you find that watch in there without any light.  The boy replied I just laid down in the saw dust, and after a while I heard tick, tick, tick and I just kept moving toward the sound. The ticking got so loud that I finally just reached over and picked up the watch.

When we are having a hard time hearing God speak, maybe we need to close the door and be still, and then we might just hear God speaking to us.  After all, just as the watch was ticking the whole time everyone else was searching for it, so is our God always speaking to us.  We just need to learn to do as the scripture says, “Be still and know that He is God.”  God loves us and wants a personal relationship with each and every one of us.  I know if we will slow down and get alone with God He has something He wants to show and tell us.  We just might be surprised what direction God is trying to get us to go.  Listen to this message and then listen to what God is saying to you!

Tony would always say, when we go into the prisons we don’t pass the hat because if we did we wouldn’t get our hat back.  So Free in Christ Ministries relies solely on folks like you and me to keep this very important ministry going.

Since Tony Mac passed away in 2016 Free in Christ Ministries has been ran by Tony’s wife Candy Mac and his daughter Michelle Mac. Free in Christ Ministries has been hit hard by the Covid mandates, they have been having a hard time getting into the prisons to minister.  They need your prayers and support...

So today after you listen to this CD or podcast I ask you to find you a quiet place and close the door and pray, ask God, what would you have me give to Free in Christ Ministries. Your gift will help them continue reaching the people inside the prisons. The Scripture clearly tells us we can’t out give God.

Paul says in 2nd Corinthians that he which soweth sparingly shall reap sparingly; but he who sows bountifully shall reap bountifully. Paul ask each of us in verse 7 to search our hearts, so we will not give grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver. and in verse 8 Paul says God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: verse nine says; As it is written, He has dispersed abroad; He hath given to the poor: His righteousness remains for ever. I pray you will be blessed and highly favored for your generosity.

August 13 1995 this was my prayer the day I got saved driving down the highway.  Lord Use me, I don’t want to go and sit in a Church and do nothing, there has to be something I can do for your kingdom.  Since that day God has used me in ways that I never would have thought or imagined.

The Holy Spirit has gifted each believer for specific work in God’s kingdom.  Scripture explains this idea by comparison with a human body: each person has gifts and purposes that make the entire system function well. Everyone can do something for Jesus.  We can all play a part in Kingdom work. Jesus tells each one of us to “Go Ye Therefore.”
This is a ministry anyone can get involved in by passing on our Lonesome Road  cd’s to a family member, friend or neighbor. It’s called the Great Commission and can be found in Matthew chapter 28: 16-20.

In Mark’s Gospel Jesus tells us  “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” And in Luke's Gospel Jesus tells us “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,  and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.  And you are witnesses of these things.  Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”
And we find that power in the book of Acts written in red.  Jesus tells us that we can have this power.  In Acts Chapter 1:8 the Scripture tells us, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”   In today’s language this verse says “But you shall receive power, after the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and you shall be witnesses unto me (Jesus) in your city, and in your State, and in your Country, and to the uttermost parts of the world.”
God is looking for a place to happen, and he can happen in your life, your Church, your ministry when you say God here am I use me!  The power of the Holy Spirit is ours for the asking, so ask God how He can use you.  Just say “Here am I Lord, use Me.”  You’ll be surprised if you will just ask.

Lonesome Road Ministries is all about taking the Gospel on the road to where the people are!  We must not sit inside the walls of a Church building on our blessed assurance waiting for Jesus to return.  He has given each one of us a call to Go into the highways and the hedges to compel those who are on the road with the Gospel message so that His house will be filled.  The best sermon you have is your own testimony of what Jesus has done in your life.  We must go out and share with others!
Join Lonesome Road Ministries, Channel 21 Ministries, Good News Distribution & the Truckers Prayer line September 16, 17, 18, & 19 at the 25th annual St. Ignace Truck Show weekend.  We will be there sharing our ministries with lots of truckers and their families.  We have plans to bless as many of the show trucks as we possibly can that weekend.    We are excited about being in St. Ignace Michigan for a powerful weekend of ministry and fellowship.  We will have plenty of CD’s, Bibles, & testimony books to give away that weekend.  We also plan to have a Sunday morning service there  this year right before the awards program.  I am honored that I have been asked to bring the Sunday morning message this year at the truck show.   God has opened a huge door for our ministries to present the Gospel to all who will be in attendance at the 9 am Sunday morning service

    Gary Rayburn

I logged over 4 million miles as a truck driver from 1972 - 2007 and I have written a lot of it in my songs. God has taken me off the road and put me into full time ministry, but I still have a heart for all you drivers out there.
