Lonesome Road Ministries Hosts 6th Annual 3 Fold Cord Conference
Lonesome Road Ministries recently hosted their sixth annual 3 Fold Cord Conference in Carmi, Illinois, to celebrate the life changing work that God is doing on the highways throughout the country.
Lonesome Road Ministries was started by Gary Rayburn as a tape ministry to truck drivers in early 2000. It has evolved into a *whosoever will* ministry that distributes thousands of free CDs each month with music, testimonies, and messages about the love of Jesus through their mailing list and the network of 150 plus Channel 21 chaplains around the country.
\Barbara Fairchild and Roy Morris
The ministry has expanded to also include radio programs on several stations around the country plus a television show. Lonesome Road Ministries is truly *a church without walls* as they receives calls and messages daily about the life changing effects of sharing the gospel through the various ministry outlets.
James Payne and McKay Project
Six years ago Lonesome Road Ministries (formerly RIG Ministries) decided to start the 3 Fold Cord Conference in Carmi, Illinois as a way to bring drivers from around the country together and those partnered with the ministry for a few days to celebrate the life changing work that God is doing through the CD ministry. They decided on the name 3 Fold Cord Conference because of the principle found in Ecclesiastes 4:12 which says, And if someone overpowers one person, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not easily broken.
The 2018 conference was held recently at Trinity Assembly of God which is the new home to Lonesome Road Ministries. It is an honor to partner with Lonesome Road Ministries, Chaplain Gary, and his staff. The work they do daily to spread the gospel around the USA is in line with our mission at TAG (Trinity Assembly of God). When Lonesome Road needed a new home for their ministry, it was a NO Brainer for us at Trinity Assembly of God to step up to the challenge. Soul winning is our heart. Most importantly, soul winning is GOD's heart!! The 3 Fold Conference was exactly what we prayed it would be: uplifting, inspiring, and challenging. Soul winning through sharing personal testimonies is the Gospel at its best! Pastor Lee Hicks, Trinity Assembly of God
The 3 Fold Cord Conference was jammed packed with music, prayer, testimonies, preaching, fellowship, food, laughter, celebration and so much more. The conference kicked off on Friday at noon and continued through Sunday at noon. The weekend featured artists and speakers from around the country such as Barbara Fairchild and Roy Morris, James Payne, McKay Project, Joe Arview and family, Dan Duncan, Roger Barkley, Jr., Sonshine Road, Jim and Ann Davenport, Jackie Bowling, and Bill Schell.
There were many amazing moments throughout the weekend. Gary Rayburn shared recorded testimonies and we heard personal testimonies from those in attendance about the impact of Lonesome Road Ministries on their lives. Thousands of letters were laid out on the altar and we were called on to come up and pray over those needs and thank God for the blessings. On Saturday, Pastor Lee Hicks of Trinity Assembly of God, challenged everyone to go deeper and get out of our comfort zone.
Other highlights during the weekend included a Friday night session with music and testimony by Barbara Fairchild and Roy Morris. Of course, a gathering such as this wouldn't have been complete without great food and volunteers. A team of wonderful ladies from Trinity Assembly of God provided food for everyone on Friday night, Danny and Roda Dennis of Rodan Trucking provided lunch for everyone on Saturday, and Kevin Whitten of God's Grill provided lunch on Sunday. We honor those wonderful volunteers for giving of their time and resources to bless everyone that attended the conference.
We had some great participation from my new church family, Trinity Assembly of God. They went above and beyond anything I expected from them. We had great participation from our youth in our church. The ladies were great with decorating the church and gymnasium to making sure the hospitality room was stocked up. I can't say enough good things about Trinity. The men were great in helping set up tables, parking, security, cleanup crews, and shuttle drivers for our truckers who had to park about a mile away. The sound crew was excellent and we appreciate Jack Baker Photography for all the great pictures.
Of course, I want to say a very special thanks to my Pastors Lee and Robin Hicks. Without their support and bringing Lonesome Road Ministries to Trinity, we couldn't have continued this conference. This was our sixth year and by far the best as far as participation. I am looking forward to our seventh 3 Fold Cord Conference in June 2019.

Is there such a thing as "the perfect gift? At Christmas time, shoppers go in search of it. Everyone wants his or her gift to be just what those special people in our life have always wanted. The things that people really want to make their lives better, can't be bought from a store. I'm talking about good health, peace of mind, financial security, and long life to name a few.
I remember when my children were little, at Christmas time they would always make something for me and Linda and wrap them up and put them under the Christmas tree. Those presents were gifts of Love and how precious they were. Even though these were some of the most precious gifts and bring some great memories to the mind, there is still one gift that is even greater than any gift we could ever hope for or even imagine.
The gift that can provide the missing elements of our lives. Best of all, anyone who knows where to find it can tell you where to get it, free of charge. Sound to good to be true? Yes but this is one gift that delivers what it promises.
God presented this perfect gift to the world over 2,000 years ago. His son, Jesus, was born in a stable in Bethlehem to a humble carpenter and his betrothed, a virgin named Mary. There was no get-together to celebrate the blessed event, only a star casting down its light from the night sky.
During the Christmas holiday, Christians celebrate Jesus birth as the beginning of something wonderful. Without His birth, there could not have been a victorious death at Calvary and eternal salvation for every believer. Jesus life upon this earth was short, but he left behind a lifetime of teaching.
God's love became real through Jesus Christ. Those who longed to know that God cared about them had at last found comfort. On August 13,1995 at the age of 43 driving down the road in a semi truck I cried out to Jesus to save me! And he did! Now, I have a friend who will never disappoint me and a Father who answers when I call.
Remember the things I mentioned earlier: good health, peace of mind, financial freedom, and long life? God provides all of this to whosoever ask through his Son.
Would you like to know where to find God's greatest gift? He's as close as your knees are to the floor. Tell him that you want him to become a part of your life. Ask him to forgive your sins and make your heart and mind whole again. The greatest gift of all, is yours for the asking.

August 13th 1995 at the age of 43 I gave my heart to the Lord while driving my semi down I-39 one day. For the next two years all I wanted to do was read my bible and pray God use me I want to be your servant. I remember the first tape I picked up on the road it was in Va. at a truck stop in 1999. There was a whole big basket full of tapes and the sign said Gospel Sunrise free tapes listen carefully and then pass them on. I remember listening to them tapes and just loving them and thinking this is just what I need out here on this Ole Lonesome Road. After that I started searching the truck stops for more of those tapes. I remember well the day that God spoke to me in 1999 and told me to start a tape ministry. It was after I had stopped and picked up a tape in a truck stop in Ga. I remember putting that tape in the tape player and this big friendly booming voice came on and Ray Sisk started talking to me like he was sitting in the cab with me. The tape said I-20 for Jesus and God spoke to me through that tape. He told me this is your ministry this is how I'm going to use you. I want you to start a tape ministry!
God said put my testimony on a tape and put some of the songs He had been giving me on the tape and start passing them out on the road! He told me the tapes are to reach the lost and the broken hearted and the tapes are to be free. I called the number on that tape and talked to Ray Sisk several times and he would encourage me and after a year of struggling with this call I surrendered in Oct. of 2000.
I started the Lonesome Road Tape Ministry for Truckers out on the road. I was at the time an over the road trucker so I made tapes on the weekend (about 25 a week) and took them with me on the road and handed them out to drivers through the week. God has continued to grow this ministry and He continues to send me solid Christians like you to help keep this ministry alive reaching thousands all across America. Today we are closing in on 2 million free CDs given away. I feel that God has opened a brand new door for Lonesome Road Ministries. God has called me to stretch a net across America using the truckers and Faith based trucking companies to bring in the Harvest. God has laid on my heart the next step in this ministry is to start a Truck Stop Crusade bringing the Gospel to the drivers right where they are, in the truck stop and to continue supplying the drivers with our CD's, Podcast and Radio programs. We need help, Churches, Trucking Companies, Drivers to get involved making a difference. Together we can reach our family, friends and our neighbors. I have put together a short introduction to our ministry and what we are all about. This short introduction CD is less than 7 minutes long so I pray you will help me get this introduction CD in the hands of your Pastor and Church board, or your Trucking Company. We need your help! Drivers we want to reach all across America using the trucking Companies that want to help their drivers and their driver's families at home. If you would please contact me and let me send you a package with this introduction CD and some information about the Ministry along with some of our pressing needs. I think we will increase our ministry and outreach. Remember one can put a thousand to flight but two can put ten thousand to flight. It doesn't double when we tie ourselves together it Quantum leaps.
Ecclesiastes 4:12 Says * And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.* So many of you have tied yourselves to this ministry with your time, talent, resources, and love offerings and we appreciate each and every one of you and I know I can depend on you to help with this "Brand New Thang" God has laid on our heart. Many others who have never been able to help, now is your chance to get involved in something that will change America. Will you take a stand for America today by helping stretch this net across our great Country? Call us, write to us, or email me and ask for the introduction CD and the packet of information about our ministry to give to your Trucking Company or your Church pastor and Church board. God bless you for your help and support in this ministry. And remember God Loves you and we do too! Talk at you later:

LET DOWN YOUR NETS!!!
Luke 5:4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.
I love this story in Luke Chapter 5 verses 1-11. Eleven powerful verses we need to apply into our lives. Jesus done the majority of His preaching, Teaching, Reaching by taking His message to the people where they were. Here we find Jesus going right into the work place to the fishermen and preaching to them from their very own boat. Then He said, "launch out in to the deep waters and cast your nets" and they brought in more fish than they had ever caught before. Then Jesus said; that's nothing follow me and I will make you fishers of Men!
God has something special, something unique for each and every one of us if we will just reach out and grab it. Most of the time it requires us launching out into the deep, claiming territory we are not comfortable in, or in other words getting out of our comfort zone. Many times it has us doing things we just aren't capable of doing, but with God all things are possible. Are you ready to launch out into the deep, are you ready to let God use you?
In verse 4; Jesus said to Simon now go out where it is deeper and let down your nets to catch some fish. Simon's reply was *Master, we worked hard all last night and didn't catch a thing." But then Peter realized who was speaking to him and he said, "But if you say so, I*ll let the nets down again.* This time their nets were so full of fish they began to tear! A shout for help brought their partners in the other boat, and soon both boats were filled with fish and on the verge of sinking.
This was the beginning of discipleship for Simon (Peter), James and John they were just fishermen. But when they saw who Jesus was they left everything to follow Him.
This 3 Fold Cord Conference we just had can be the beginning of something huge in our Ministries, our Churches and our homes. God is bringing us to new levels if we will just take a step in faith and follow Him!
Each one of us must decide, who are you gonna serve! We too need to see who Jesus is in our lives and we need to leave everything and follow Him.
The Bible says one can put a thousand to flight but two can put ten thousand to flight. When we tie ourselves together with other Ministries we can do ten times what we are capable of by ourselves. The Bible also says a threefold cord is not easily broken. When we work together God is pleased and He will strengthen us beyond anything we could ever dream or imagine.
Lonesome Road Ministries is a Church without Walls, A Church out of the Box. We are praying and asking God to bless us and use us to stretch this net all across America, bringing in a harvest for His kingdom. We are praying for Churches, Ministries, and Individuals that are ready to say "Here am I Lord use me!*

BREAKER BREAKER ONE NINE
HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT OUR
3 FOLD CORD CONFERENCE
Most of you have heard our CD's and know we are not your typical CD Ministry. We are a Church on the Road a Church out of the box, taking the Church to the people where ever they are. This ministry began in October 2000 and shortly after that in early 2001 I heard a guy by the name of Jackie Bowling preaching over the CB radio on one of Ray Sisk cassettes. I called Ray and got Jackie Bowling's phone number and gave him a call. We quickly became friends and soon got the chance to meet at a truck stop.
We formed a partnership working together as Lonesome Road Ministries using his unique style of preaching over the CB radio and the songs that the Lord had given me to write to blend in with Jackie's preaching over the CB Radio to start making Cassettes for Lonesome Road Ministries.
Jackie and I have stayed good friends over the last 17 years and he has continued to support and be a big part of Lonesome Road Ministries. Jackie has recently changed jobs, he no longer drives over the road but has a local job working for the State of Indiana. So the "Good News" is Jackie will be joining us at our 3 Fold Cord Conference as one of our speakers this year September 28, 29, 30 you will get to meet Jackie and hear him bring us a Word from that Ole Lonesome Road. Jackie will be here September 28, & 29 and then head back to Covington In. where he is a Pastor Now for Freedom Christian Church in Kingman, In. Jackie has made lots of friends over the years on the road preaching and here is your chance to come and support Jackie and the Lonesome Road Ministry.
This year's conference will be the goodest one yet! Goodest! that's a Tony Mac word that I just love to use. Speaking of Tony Mac, yes Free in Christ will be represented at our Conference by Tony's wife Candy and his Daughter Michelle they will both be speaking at the conference. We have a full lineup of some of our Goodest friends who you hear on our Lonesome Road CD'S.

A TIME OF INCREASE
Isaiah 54:2 *Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. God wants to pour out His favor and blessings beyond anything we could ever dream or imagine. God is wanting each of us to go to the next level in our lives, Ministries and Churches. We have to prepare to receive His favor and blessings. We must increase our vision and our capacity to receive what God has for us.
Remember the story in 2nd Kings Chapter 4 about the widow who cried out to the prophet Elisha? Her Husband had died and the creditors were coming to enslave her family. The prophet ask her what do you have in your house? She replied nothing but a small bottle of Olive Oil. The prophet told her to round up all the jars she could find go ask her friends and neighbors for jars and not to just ask for a few but gather all she can then fill the jars with the oil in the small bottle. When they had finished doing what the Prophet said they had more than enough to pay their debts and to live a blessed and highly favored life.
It*s time for us to go out and seek those containers and gather not just a few but as many as we can and let the Lord bless us beyond anything that we could ever dream, hope or imagine. He wants to enlarge each one of us but we must enlarge our vision and efforts. Just like the little boy with a few fish and a few loaves just a small lunch enough for a young lad. But when he placed it in the hands of the Master it became a miracle and was enough to feed thousands.
If we think we have reached our limit then we will get stuck where we are, but if we continue to enlarge our vision of where God wants to take us we will continue to reach our family, friends, and neighbors. When we enlarge our vision, God will pour out His favor not only on us but also to all those who we reach out to.
God wants us to have a life more abundantly so we need to increase our vision and gather as many containers as possible and let God fill them to overflowing.

I logged over 4 million miles as a truck driver from 1972 - 2007 and I have written a lot of it in my songs. God has taken me off the road and put me into full time ministry, but I still have a heart for all you drivers out there.
