What are you asking for? This is a powerful message by Dr. David Gibbs that was sent to me by one of our partners out in Colorado, (Ken Wolf.)
I called Ken up and thanked him for sending me this wonderful message by David Gibbs. Ken told me he just loved David Gibbs and listens to him all the time and when he heard this message he knew he needed to send it to me. Ken said I’ve been listening to David Gibbs ever since I heard my first message by him that I had sent to him years ago. This is such an encouraging message that after I listened to it. I contacted David Gibbs office and invited him to speak at our conference June 28,29,30 next year in 2024. So I am asking all of you to be in prayer with me that God will direct David Gibbs to come and join us in 2024. That is what I am asking for after listening to this podcast. As you listen to the CD/Podcast, pray and ask God for something impossible in your life and then call us or write to us and we can pray about it together. We are praying for God to bless us in ways that we never thought or imagined and you need to pray that way too. To bless in the biblical sense means to ask for or to impart supernatural favor. When we ask God’s blessing, we’re not asking for more of what we could get for ourselves, we are crying out for unlimited goodness that only God has the power to know about or to give us. This kind of richness is what I believe the writer of Proverbs 10:22 is saying. The Lord’s blessing is our greatest wealth, all our works adds nothing to it. In other words it’s not about us, it’s always about Him (Jesus) and always about reaching and helping others. God is looking for those who want to do more for Him! So why not ask? God’s bounty is limited only by us, not by His resources, power, or willingness to give. God has something bigger for each one of us no matter where we are right now. That is not where God is going to leave us! We all have seasons in life when we feel overwhelmed. When unexpected things happen, we can be tempted to get discouraged. We may feel like we don’t have what it takes, or we may feel weak. Anytime you feel this way, you have to realize that feelings aren’t facts. The truth of the matter is that God wants each one of us to get to the big pool in our life. When we get in over our heads that's when you learn to swim. We need to get filled up to overflowing and go out and splash on someone else's life. When we make our life about helping others, that is when we find the real rewards of life. In the words of my mentor ( Ray Sisk), “Others, yes others, let this my motto be! Help me to live for others Lord, so that I might live for thee!” Scripture says, when you feel weak, that’s when God’s strength rises in you. His strength will overcome any opposition you may face. So together through prayer we can do the impossible. So join with me and let’s pray for the impossible to happen in our lives and our friends & families lives. ![]()
Our 10th year will be a very special conference. We are celebrating by bringing Gaylon Taylor, who God spoke to about doing a 3 Fold Cord Conference way back in 2012 in to be one of our speakers. Darrell Spicer had just started Channel 21 Ministries and was very excited about working with our Ministry and Gaylon Taylor’s Ministry, so we decided it would be a Three Fold Cord Conference with the 3 ministries combining to host the conference. Our first conference was in 2013 at Carmi and this year will be our 10th Anniversary of the conference.
The conference will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 23 with some great music by many of our Lonesome Road family; James Payne, Sonshine Road, Roger Barkley, Jr. & the Redemption Band, Jim & Ann Davenport, Ava Kasich, Mike Wellman, The McKay Project, Bill Schell, Joe Arview, & David Brown. We also have some great speakers lined up for this years conference. Our Friday speakers will be Richard Coss, my Pastor Rick Hays speaking @ 4:30 right before the fish fry, so come hungry there will be food for the body and the soul. After the fish fry we will have music & word by James Payne. Saturday we start with breakfast for everyone at 8 a.m. with the conference beginning at 9:30 a.m. with music. Gaylon Taylor will be speaking Saturday morning along with James Payne who will bring us another great word at noon followed by another great meal furnished and provided by Lonesome Road Ministries. Revival is birthed through a passion for Jesus. Whether it’s Azusa Street in the early 1900’s or Asbury, KY of today. The common denominator is a people longing to feel the fire in their soul. We hear it preached from every pulpit in America, how we want to see revival, we want to see God move. Each and every one of us has said it, we want to see God move.
Jesus Christ, when he walked this earth as a man, had been given the Holy Spirit without measure. That’s why he could say in John 9:5, “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” Then on the day of Pentecost, after the Lord ascended to heaven, he fulfilled Joel’s prophecy of pouring out the Holy Spirit upon all flesh. The body of Christ was no longer the body of just one man, but is composed of all Christians. That is why the Lord can say to us Christians, “Ye are the light of the World.” That is why Jesus said in Matthew 5:13, “Ye are the salt of the earth.” In other words, it is as John wrote in his 1st epistle, Chapter 4 and verse 17, “As Christ is, so are we in this world.” If we truly do want to see a move of God, then we, as Christians need to get moving! We are the light of the world! We are the salt of the earth! We are the body of Christ and it is up to us! The best way to start a revival is to start one in our homes, then let it spill out into our neighborhoods and from there across our city, state and country, and into the uttermost parts of the world. Jesus said in John 17:18 “As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.” In John 14:12 Jesus said, “he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also, and greater works.” We want to see the power of God fall from heaven. It fell,and it fell on us! Only Christians can move out in the power of God and change someone’s life and be the light in someone’s dark world. We want to see God move? Let’s get moving! What makes a good fisherman or fisherwoman? Good fishermen arrive at the right spot at the right time. They come prepared with the right equipment. They know something about the fish they’re after and choose the right-sized hook and bait to attract the fish. Most importantly, once a good fisherman casts the line, he or she patiently waits for the fish to nibble. If the fish likes the taste, it’s not long before it’s hooked.
As Christians, we should all aspire to be good Fishers-of-Men? Sadly, all too often, we ignore the rules of the good fisherman when evangelizing in the unsaved world. We choose a spot and a time that is convenient to us (usually when and where the fish are not biting). More often than not, we arrive unprepared and unequipped. We bring no bait (patience, compassion and tolerance). If we do happen to see a fish (someone interested in the Word), we zealously dive in, causing a frightful splash as we try to catch the fish with our bare hands. Tragically, the result is always the same. (Matthew 4:19) ![]() The Easter Bible Story - While Christmas observes the birth of Jesus, Easter remembers the main Christian event: Christ's suffering, crucifixion, and resurrection. For Christians, Easter is the remembrance of Christ's voluntary death and resurrection to save humankind from sin and death.

This month’s message is called “Pardoned” and as you listen to this testimony and hear about all the sin that Richard was involved in and how he received a presidential pardon from Gerald Ford on December 23rd 1975. Richard talked about this pardon and said “it wasn’t his until he received it and got it in his hands.” But Richard said “it didn’t compare to the pardon he received from Jesus on March 16th 1969 when he received a pardon from our Lord Jesus Christ.” He walked into Church that day and had absolutely nothing, but he walked out of there that day with everything. Jesus had gave him a pardon for all his sins he had ever committed. This is just a smidgen of what our 3 Fold Cord Conference will be like this June. Awesome music by Joe Arview and many, many others who will be with us. Also great testimonies & preaching from Richard Coss and many others. Just Like Richard, Jesus wants to do the same for each and everyone of us, and our house. In Acts chapter 16 verse 31 it says Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.

In 1st John 1:9 the Bible says; If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I love this verse for it says ALL unrighteousness, it doesn't say some, it says ALL. And ALL means ALL and that’s ALL it means. 1st John chapter 5 verse 13 is a great verse. It reads; These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. That is a promise from God that he will never leave us or forsake us. This is assurance that we may know, that we know, that we have salvation and we have an eternal home in heaven. So if you have never asked Jesus into your heart then do it now and you can have that assurance of salvation. A simple prayer; Lord Jesus forgive me for my sins, take out my stony heart and give me a new heart, and I will live for you the rest of my life. I got a call from one of our partners, Ronnie Archer the first week of January. He shared his new year’s resolution with me. Ronnie said, “I want God to be so big in me in 2023, that all the world will see the God that lives in me!” I told Ronnie, “I was going to make that my resolution too, and share it with everyone I know.” I am claiming this resolution for me and all of you who want to do something great for God! The time is now for us to get busy and stretch this Gospel net all across America, and into the uttermost parts of the world. Our radio station has had over 16 countries log on and listen to our broadcast. We need you to start sharing our radio station link, our CD’S, Our Podcast cards. We need to reach the lost. God wants to use you to do the impossible today. God isn’t looking for impressive people, He wants willing ones who will bow their knee in humble submission. God wants to turn you into His mighty warrior. We are who God says we are and we have what God says we have. I declare today that the Word of God is true for your life the same as it is true for my life. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We are full of talent, creativity, and wisdom. We can accomplish whatever dreams and visions God has given us. I declare in Jesus name that we walk in divine health. We will have the favor of God and the anointing of God with us every step of the way, with every person we meet. We will prosper and we will succeed in everything we attempt for God. God has planted seeds of greatness in each one of us and we are coming into a new season of increase, a new season of God’s favor, a new season of God’s blessings! We are blessed & highly favored and we will walk in it in 2023!!!
Since the virus, Dennis and Leslie has felt that they are supposed to be involved in some kind of local related ministry along with being involved with Lonesome Road Ministries. Well, in January Dennis & Leslie has started a Bible study & fellowship, and you know that will include a lot of great music. They are meeting once a month, 4 pm at their studio 115A,201 N. A very rich man sat at his dinner table and watched his three children fight over the TV remote. He decided to make his children an incredible offer. If they would stop what they were doing and come to the table as a family for dinner, then join him to clear away the dishes, he would reward them generously. He told them that after dinner his private jet would fly them to the best theme parks. Then they could tour the world and visit any location they personally desired. Added to this, they could invite all their friends and the same offer would be made to them.
Two of his children leapt eagerly from their chairs and joined their father at the dinner table - this was an extremely generous offer not to be missed. They were so overjoyed, that spending ten minutes afterwards doing the dishes was just an opportunity to discuss the fantastic wonders to come. As for phoning their friends with the invitation, that certainly wasn’t a chore. However, one son didn’t join the family dinner - his favourite show was on. He gave away the opportunity of a lifetime to watch a half-hour sitcom. When we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are ‘reborn’ into God’s family. As our Heavenly Father, God has made us a generous offer, which makes the offer described above look dull. God has said, if we join our family at the table (Christian fellowship), help with the dishes (Christian service) and invite all our friends (evangelize), He will give us fantastic rewards, far beyond our imagination and expectation (2 Timothy 2: 11-13). What we do in life ‘does’ have repercussions throughout eternity. Life is so small compared to forever – less than a half-hour sitcom. We would be pretty stupid not to switch off ‘life’s distractions’ and join the family dinner for an eternity of riches. But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9.

2023, who would have ever thunk it! We begin our 23rd year of ministry here at Lonesome Road Ministries. This month’s CD we have some great testimonies by Joe Arview about his songs and also about a great hymn, I Have Decided. You are gonna love these stories by Joe. As you can see by the above picture we now have many ways to get the message to you. You can play the CD or simply scan the code with your phone to listen to this month’s message. We have come a long way from when we first started a cassette tape ministry in October 2000. I am reminded how that first tape ministry failed and how heart broke I was. I thought, well I tried but I failed, I guess I will just have to quit. I called my mentor Ray Sisk down in Appling, Ga. Ray had a ministry called I-20 for Jesus that I followed and simulated when I began Lonesome Road Ministry. I called Ray and told him, the Church told me I couldn’t do a tape ministry there anymore. I told Ray I guess I’m just going to have to quit. Ray told me that day, “Son you done put your hand to the plow, you can’t quit. If God has called you to do a tape ministry, then you do a tape ministry. You do it out of your garage, your house or where ever you can but you can’t quit.” So I decided right then, there’s no place to quit. When God calls you to do something, you must do what God calls you to do. The devil has been trying to stop this ministry now for over 22 years and I refuse to quit. We just ordered another load of CD’S and the price has almost doubled. The postage continues to go higher and higher but I won’t let that stop me, we will continue to send out free CD’S. Even our Collector Cards we are just getting started making, yeah you guessed it, the price of these cards are going up too. Satan is a liar and a thief and he come to kill, steal and destroy.
But the good news is, Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly. I get calls everyday from folks all around the country asking me what my opinion is of the state of our country. Many people are wringing their hands and crying woe is me!!! I will tell you, that makes our job even more important than it ever was. We must keep our hands to the plow!! We are to shine the light of Jesus to our family, friends, & neighbors, and as for me and my house we are going to serve the Lord! God called each of us to be that light in this dark world. We are blessed & highly favored and He has called us to shine our light so others might see Jesus in us. As Ray Sisk told me in 2001, son you done put your hand to the plow you can’t quit! You keep on doing what God has called you to do and He will continue to lift you to higher levels to reach more people. So I decided in 2001 that I would not quit no matter what. Today I have decided no matter what happens or how ridiculous the prices get, I will keep on keeping on for Jesus. There is someone out there right now that needs to see the light of Jesus in us. It might be a family member, a friend, or a neighbor; but God has someone for us to witness to today. If every Christian was to shine our light in this dark world it wouldn’t be long and this dark world would start changing. I have decided to keep on witnessing and shining the light of Jesus everywhere I go. Join with us here at Lonesome Road Ministry and we can make a difference in someone’s life today. We might not reach everyone, but we can make a difference to the ones we do reach out too. We must take up our cross daily and follow Jesus. I will not quit until I hear well done thou good and faithful servant!

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. ![]() All this month many of us will go in search of Christmas lights. Many will light up our homes inside and out with lights displaying our joy for Christ. Jesus said in Matthew 5 that we are the light of the world, a city that is set on a hill cannot be hid, neither do men light a candle and put it under a basket, but on a candlestick; and it gives unto all that is in the house. So let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. As we go in search of Christmas lights this month, let us also go and be the light to a lost and lonely world. God illustrated this to me one day in a crazy kinda way. I have this old pair of boots that I like to wear and they are very comfortable. I polished them and put a real good shine on them the other day and everywhere I went people commented on my boots, how good looking they were. Just the day before no one even noticed them, they were just another old pair of boots. Then God started showing me that is the way Christian’s are, sometimes we get a little too comfortable in our walk with Him! We need to put a little shine in our walk! Jesus wants us to be a witness. His word tells us to go out into the highways and hedges and compel people to come in so that His house will be filled. We are to go into all the world and to preach the Gospel! The best sermon we have is our testimony of how God has changed our lives. When is the last time someone asked you if you were a Christian? When was the last time you shared your testimony or your faith with someone that you just met or better yet someone that you may have known all your life. Jesus says we are to let our light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. The choice is ours, and the way we keep that shine is just like you keep a good shine on an old pair of boots. It takes polish, a good brush and good shining rag and a little bit of work. It takes work, to put a little shine in our Christian walk too! We have to read our Bibles every day, we have to pray every day. We need to fellowship with other Christian believers every chance we get. Even if it means getting in a cramped Church bus and going to look at lights this Christmas season. We can use every opportunity to pass out a CD, a Lonesome Road Podcast Collector Card. Who knows, someone just might see the light of Jesus in you! So hide it under a bushel, NO! Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify our Father which is in heaven. If we will do that the shine we put out will be worth the effort. Our 10th year will be a very special conference. We are celebrating by bringing Gaylon Taylor who God spoke to about doing a Three Fold Cord conference way back in 2012. Darrell Spicer had just started Channel 21 Ministries and was very excited about working with our Ministry and Gaylon Taylor’s Ministry so we decided it would be a Three Fold Cord conference with the 3 ministries combining to host the conference. So our first conference was in 2013 at Carmi and this year will be our 10th anniversary of the conference.
So along with Gaylon Taylor, Darrell Spicer, James Payne, I have asked Pastor Richie Turnbo, who was one of Darrell Spicer’s 1st Chaplains, to come and be a Speaker along with Darrell & Gaylon. We will also have James Payne who will speak Friday night and Saturday. I have also asked my Pastor Rick Hays to be one of our speakers along with Richard Coss. This month’s message is a sermon from my Pastor, Rick Hays. Giving thanks with your testimony. When I heard this message I knew I wanted to send this out to all of you. Giving thanks with your testimony captures Lonesome Road Ministries heart and soul. I started this ministry in October 2000 because God called me to get my testimony on a cassette tape & use the songs that He was giving me to reach people all over this country and around the world. I am so thankful that I surrendered to the call. God has continued to use this ministry and send me all over this country to share my testimony and to meet so many gifted and talented ministers of the Gospel. I am thankful that God continues to raise this ministry up to new levels beyond anything I could have ever dreamed or imagined. Psalms Chapter 40 is some of my favorite Scriptures. On Aug 13, 1995 I started out at 4 a.m. headed to East Dubuque,IL to deliver a load of dynamite. At 5 a.m. I started crying and talking to the Lord. When I heard myself talking to the Lord I said, “I don't even know if there is a God, but God if you’re real; then prove it to me. The Scriptures says I waited patiently on the Lord and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry! I spent all day talking to the Lord asking Him to prove to me that He was real. The Lord was very patient with me that day and He gave me the patients to keep asking Him to prove He was real. That day He heard my cry and He picked me up out of the miry clay and set my feet upon the Rock of Jesus! He established my going and He put a new song in my mouth. God started giving me songs to write and called me into a tape ministry to share my testimony and songs with all those out on that Ole Lonesome Road. God also has made it possible for us to allow many others to share their testimonies and send them out across the country and around the world. I am so thankful for that day I surrendered to the Lord and allowed Him to lead me and use me to reach so many others. I am so thankful for all the great people I have had a chance to meet and work with over the last 22 years. So many great friends and partners in this ministry. It is because of all the great partners over the years that we have reached the 3 million mark on tapes & CD’S. I’ve found that is exactly what most people are looking for; A Real God. When they look at Christians are they seeing the Real God who lives in us? God has now given us a radio station and planted us here at our new home. This opens up a new door for all of us to share our testimonies with people all over the world. We are doing interviews every week getting testimonies of those who just want to give thanks to God for transforming them into a vessel He can use. Psalms 40 verse 4 says, blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust and does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Your blessings are too numerous to number. Verse 8 says I delight to do your will, O my God. Verse 9 says I have proclaimed or preached in the great congregations. I have spoken of your faithfulness and Your salvation to all. I am giving thanks to you today Oh Lord, for you are my help and my deliverer. I am nothing, but you Oh Lord, you are my everything, I praise you Lord and give thanks to you today for your gift of salvation! The Adventurous Life![]() Adventure is defined as an exciting and uncertain undertaking attended by risk and danger - a remarkable experience where one has been put to the test. We love to watch movies with a brave hero facing impossible odds. No matter how great the risk, we are confident the hero will be victorious in the end. Christianity can similarly be an exciting and dangerous undertaking attended by risk and peril. And we are assured, just as in the movies, the faithful Christian will be victorious in the end (John 16:33). God has never said we are to lead a mundane, safe existence – that is usually the life we choose ourselves. When we read the Bible it soon becomes very clear that God has an adventurous heart. He loves watching us bravely face ‘seemingly’ impossible odds – risking uncertainty as we lay everything on the line for our beliefs (simultaneously inspiring those around us). At times, God may let us experience some close shaves, times of trial, uncertainty and discomfort – often waiting until the very last minute to send in His cavalry. But this is what makes the Christian life exciting. A well-lived adventurous life is a witness to the unbelieving-world, plus it gives our heavenly audience (elect angels) something to cheer. The Lord is my light and salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 21:1 ![]() Lonesome Road Ministries is a church on the road, a church out of the box. We are not your ordinary church. We are constantly looking to go to the next level. Our prayer is always, the prayer of Isaiah in Chapter 6 verse 8. Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. The only way to get to the next level is to ask! So why not ask? James 4 verse 2 says you have not because you ask not. We should never be content in our ministries or churches where we are, we need to strive to go to the next level. We are not to be satisfied, we are not to be content where we are. There are souls out there who are dying and going to Hell and it’s up to us to not only tell them, but to show them a real Jesus. If we are truly born again Christians then it’s up to us to show them the Jesus that lives in us. It is our job to reach out to them every day, EVERY DAY! We are not to be once a week Christians. A once a week Christian makes for a weak Christian. When we become Christians God gave us power to be bold and to go and share our faith with others! So working together we can make a difference in the lives of our family, friends and neighbors. Jesus tells us in John Chapter 4 verse 35-38 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’ I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.” We invite you to join with us in our labor and let us join with you in your labor and working together we can become that 3 fold cord which will withstand all that the devil will throw at us. God has given us the tools to take the Gospel message into all the world. What started out as a Cassette Tape Ministry in October 2000, 22 years ago, God has continued to raise us up to new levels. We started making CD’s in late 2004 and then moved into podcast programs in 2009. From there, God moved us to radio programs and now God has given us our very own radio station to send the Gospel all over the world with. We are hearing from countries all over the world who have been tuning in to our radio station. God is also giving us a new way to bring the Gospel to our listeners with our Collector Cards. These cards look like the baseball trading cards I use to collect when I was a kid. I always dreamed of being on one of those baseball cards and now I am on God’s team and we have our own trading card sharing testimonies with all who pick up these cards and scan the QR code on the back. It takes you to our podcast, which is a CD on Steroids!! Going to the next level can be a scary, but exciting, thing to do. God is looking for those who will say, “Here am I Lord send me. So join with us and download our app, Lonesome Road Radio on your phone and share our radio station with all your friends and neighbors,or share our website www.lonesomeroadradio.com. Together we can make a difference in someone else's life today! Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t make a difference, with God all things are possible. God wants to pour out his favor and blessings to all His people who enlarge their vision to reach others. God is looking for you to go to the next level in your life or your ministry, but, we must increase our vision and our capacity to receive what God has for us. Just like the widow in 2 Kings chapter 4. She cried out to the prophet Elisha, my husband is dead and the creditors are coming to enslave my two sons. Elisha said what do you have in the house, and she said, “We ain’t got nothing but a jar of oil.” Elisha told her to go and gather all the empty jars she could find, and do not gather just a few. Then, fill them from the jug of oil she had. When she did this she filled every jar she brought, Elisha told her to go and sell the oil and pay off all her creditors and her and her sons were to live off the rest. God is wanting us to go out and gather as many empty vessels as we possibly can, and those empty vessels are our family, friends and neighbors who don’t know Jesus. God wants us to go out into the highways and hedges and find empty vessels so that He can fill them with the oil of the Holy Spirit to overflowing. God has an endless flow of His Spirit for whosoever will ask, but it’s up to us to go out and find those empty vessels. We need to be contagious Christians making a difference to all we come in contact with. We’ve all heard the saying, ”You might be the only Bible someone ever reads.” That’s true, so let’s be something worth reading! Waiting at the Traffic Lights![]() We all dislike the inconvenience of traffic lights. They stop us mid-journey and delay us from reaching our destination. However, think of the chaos on our roads without them. In our busy lives we can become so impatient to reach our destination that we grow irritated with life’s many red lights. Sadly, when interruptions make us frustrated, it is the first sign we are losing our graceful way. It won’t be long before we are so preoccupied with our own plans that we are completely insensitive to the destinations of others. Instead, we should take every delay as an opportunity to relax and look around – otherwise, we will never enjoy life’s journey because we are so focused on reaching our destination. God is in control of all life’s traffic lights. We should be confident of reaching our objectives at precisely the right time - even allowing time to show compassion and consideration to other travelers. (Philippians 4:11-13) If we continue to speed through life’s red lights, God is the policeman who stops our reckless driving to avoid a fatal accident. He gives us a ticket (divine discipline) to remind us there are other drivers on the road-of-life who also have very important destinations. The Lord is good to those who wait for Him. To the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. Lamentations 3:25-26. Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Don’t you just love this, Scripture? Paul writing to us, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable…if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things. At first glance I’m thinking only Jesus could be all these things, but Paul is encouraging us to be all these things. That is what Christian means to be Christ like. That is exactly what I like about working with all the partners we have here at Lonesome Road Ministries. Men and women who are striving to be Christ like. Roger Barkley Jr. and his wife Dianna and Chuck & Rhonda Helms are perfect examples of this verse. All four have come onboard as Road Chaplains for our Channel 21 Ministries program. They are a joy to work with in ministry and they travel all over spreading the Good News! Since coming on board they have helped us take this ministry to the next level. The Collector Card you see above is Roger’s testimony that we recorded here at the radio station a few months ago. These cards, along with the radio station that Roger has helped get started, are taking the ministry to the next level. When I told Roger what I wanted to do with the cards he loved the idea and jumped right on it and had them designed faster than I could send the pictures and bio info for the backs. We now have 13 cards and plan on trying to produce 6-8 more each month. So if you would like to have some of the cards to collect or to pass on to family, friends, and neighbors, just let us know and we will make sure you get as many as you would like. If we have your testimony or preaching on one of our CD’s we need you to send us a good picture & bio to make a card for you. Please do not worry about your CD’s though, we plan to continue to produce CD’s as long as there is a demand for them. Please listen to this CD and you will hear Roger and the Redemption Band, and listen to the message I have on this CD. It is a challenge for all of us to Think God! Just like the movie that George Burns played God in back several years ago. I loved those movies and every time they come on I have to sit and watch them. So that’s my challenge for to you today! THINK GOD! What if we started our day with God. What if we started our day in prayer talking to God. What if we included God in our daily routine and include God in every decision that we have to make throughout the day. We just might be surprised just how good our day will go. God loves us and cares about us! He is right around the corner waiting to hear from you, to help you get out of whatever difficulty you find yourself in today. Spend some time with Jesus today and THINK GOD. Ask God, Lord what would you have me do today? You just might be surprised at what God has planned for you today! God has a wide open door to His presence if we will only walk through it! What started out as only a dream has come to pass as Lonesome Road Ministries has it’s very own radio station. We are now able to broadcast our radio programs 24 hrs a day, 365 days a year. March of 2022 God planted this dream in me and I shared this dream with Roger Barkley,Jr just a couple weeks later and he said ,”No problem, we can make that happen!” I said “really!” He said “Yes” I have got several radio stations up and running I can do the same for you by the Conference time in June. This year we launched Lonesome Road Radio at our conference. And yes, we do have apps for you to download. Just go to your app store on your phone and look for Lonesome Road Ministries Radio. We are just getting started so we have yet to broadcast any live programs, but I know it is in our future. We plan on having a variety of our Lonesome Road partners to have a program on the station. Roger is working on a program and so is Joe Arview. We also plan on airing our home church, Orchardville Church services on our station. You just never know what’s going to happen when you, Think God! For generations, people have dressed in their Sunday-best clothes to go to church. On arriving home, they place their Sunday-best neatly back into the closet – not to be worn again until the next service.
Often as Christians, we can be guilty of putting on church-personalities as we would our Sunday-best clothes. When in a Christian environment, we are bubbly, friendly and seemingly without a care in the world. We use the right spiritual words and catch-phrases and all our actions are carefully pious. But as soon as we arrive home, we take off our ‘Sunday-best-personality’ and put on our normal hang-ups such as discouragement, guilt, resentment and depression. We should consider why we do this and who we are fooling. Though we should always put on our best-manners when in public, God has commanded our life be without hypocrisy. God sees and knows us as we really are – we can’t fool Him with our church-going personality. Remember, just because our fellow Christians think highly of us, doesn’t mean God does. We should free ourselves from wearing those itchy fake personalities. We gain nothing of value by fooling our peers and it’s usually the very thing that stops us from having an honest relationship with both them and God. Let Love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Romans 12:9. |
