This month's CD / PodcastMatthew 13: 23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” I am truly amazed as I sit here in my new office here at Lonesome Road Ministries. I think back to 1995 when I first got saved and started this journey. I remember a sermon that my first pastor Russ Beadles preached from Matthew chapter 13 the parable of the sower. Pastor Russ explained it so well how the sower who went forth sowing seeds. When he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside, and the birds came and devoured them up. Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth, the plants sprang up quickly, but they soon wilted beneath the hot sun and died because the root had no nourishment in the shallow ground. Other seeds fell among the thorns that shot up and choked out the tender blades. But some seed fell on fertile ground and produced a crop that was thirty, sixty, and even a hundred times as much that was planted. Here are the words that stood out in my mind that day. Pastor Russ Said, “You are that ground, you get to choose, which ground are you going to be?” I thought to myself, well that’s a no brainer! I want to be that fertile ground. So I prayed that day, Lord if I get to choose, then make me that fertile ground. Lord use me to make a difference everywhere I go. I want to produce fruit for your Kingdom. That was over 25 years ago and God has answered that prayer I prayed. I could have never dreamed or expected what God has done in our lives. God spoke to me to start a tape ministry in 1999 and after struggling with the thought that I wasn’t capable I finally realized that I wasn’t, but He is! God can mold you into something that He can use if you just surrender to what He is calling you to do. October 2000 Lonesome Road Ministries was born. I have had the chance to pray for so many that are out on that Ole Lonesome Road and I have had the opportunity to lead many to the Lord over those 25 years. We are going to need new carpet, sanctuary chairs, and sound system installed before we can have our conference in June. So many of you have planted your seeds in this fertile ground and we have been able to purchase this property and remodel the offices, media room, fellowship hall and the kitchen. We still need your help, support, and prayers as we finish the sanctuary by June so that we can have our conference. God has made Lonesome Road Ministries that fertile ground that I prayed for in 1995. Now God is raising this ministry up to even higher ground by giving us this new home to house the ministry. God is creating an Oasis in the desert for all those who are weary and carrying heavy burdens. God is creating a place where they can come to get the living water that is needed to sustain them. That Living water is Jesus Christ. Last month we showed you pictures of some of the rooms that we have completed. Good news, we have started working on the sanctuary. This is going to be a big project, as you can see we are painting and taking up the old carpet. We had a Church, Kingdom Life Christian Center in North Carolina donate 70 chairs and a portable sound system which will work perfectly in our fellowship hall. We have set the dates June 25,26,27 for our 8th 3 Fold Cord Conference. The Address is 107 Sycamore Street in Keenes, Il. which is on route 15, 3 miles east of my home town of Wayne City, iL. And just 17 miles west of Mt. Vernon, IL. which is where the closest motels will be located. This year we are asking for each one of you who plan to attend to call us at 618.383.2107 and pre-register so that we can get an idea of how much grub we need to prepare. . Everyone is Welcome. You can also log on to our website and register or just send us a registration form back in by mail. We want to hear from you!

Gary RayburnI logged over 4 million miles as a truck driver from 1972 - 2007 and I have written a lot of it in my songs. God has taken me off the road and put me into full time ministry, but I still have a heart for all you drivers out there. Archives
