Psalms 40 1-3 I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. Giving Thanks!!! This month’s message is a sermon from my Pastor, Rick Hays. Giving thanks with your testimony. When I heard this message I knew I wanted to send this out to all of you. Giving thanks with your testimony captures Lonesome Road Ministries heart and soul. I started this ministry in October 2000 because God called me to get my testimony on a cassette tape & use the songs that He was giving me to reach people all over this country and around the world. I am so thankful that I surrendered to the call. God has continued to use this ministry and send me all over this country to share my testimony and to meet so many gifted and talented ministers of the Gospel. I am thankful that God continues to raise this ministry up to new levels beyond anything I could have ever dreamed or imagined. Psalms Chapter 40 is some of my favorite Scriptures. On Aug 13, 1995 I started out at 4 a.m. headed to East Dubuque,IL to deliver a load of dynamite. At 5 a.m. I started crying and talking to the Lord. When I heard myself talking to the Lord I said, “I don't even know if there is a God, but God if you’re real; then prove it to me. The Scriptures says I waited patiently on the Lord and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry! I spent all day talking to the Lord asking Him to prove to me that He was real. The Lord was very patient with me that day and He gave me the patients to keep asking Him to prove He was real. That day He heard my cry and He picked me up out of the miry clay and set my feet upon the Rock of Jesus! He established my going and He put a new song in my mouth. God started giving me songs to write and called me into a tape ministry to share my testimony and songs with all those out on that Ole Lonesome Road. God also has made it possible for us to allow many others to share their testimonies and send them out across the country and around the world. I am so thankful for that day I surrendered to the Lord and allowed Him to lead me and use me to reach so many others. I am so thankful for all the great people I have had a chance to meet and work with over the last 22 years. So many great friends and partners in this ministry. It is because of all the great partners over the years that we have reached the 3 million mark on tapes & CD’S. I’ve found that is exactly what most people are looking for; A Real God. When they look at Christians are they seeing the Real God who lives in us? God has now given us a radio station and planted us here at our new home. This opens up a new door for all of us to share our testimonies with people all over the world. We are doing interviews every week getting testimonies of those who just want to give thanks to God for transforming them into a vessel He can use. Our studio is located at 107 Sycamore St. Keenes, IL. 62851 so if you’re traveling through this area and would like to stop in, we would love to hear your testimony. Psalms 40 verse 4 says, blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust and does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. I truly am blessed & highly favored since the day I put my trust in the Lord. Verse 5 says many, O Lord my God, are your wonderful works which you have done; nothing compares to you Oh God! Your blessings are too numerous to number. Verse 8 says I delight to do your will, O my God. Verse 9 says I have proclaimed or preached in the great congregations. I have spoken of your faithfulness and Your salvation to all. I am giving thanks to you today Oh Lord, for you are my help and my deliverer. I am nothing, but you Oh Lord, you are my everything, I praise you Lord and give thanks to you today for your gift of salvation! The Adventurous LifeAdventure is defined as an exciting and uncertain undertaking attended by risk and danger - a remarkable experience where one has been put to the test. We love to watch movies with a brave hero facing impossible odds. No matter how great the risk, we are confident the hero will be victorious in the end. Christianity can similarly be an exciting and dangerous undertaking attended by risk and peril. And we are assured, just as in the movies, the faithful Christian will be victorious in the end (John 16:33). God has never said we are to lead a mundane, safe existence – that is usually the life we choose ourselves. When we read the Bible it soon becomes very clear that God has an adventurous heart. He loves watching us bravely face ‘seemingly’ impossible odds – risking uncertainty as we lay everything on the line for our beliefs (simultaneously inspiring those around us). At times, God may let us experience some close shaves, times of trial, uncertainty and discomfort – often waiting until the very last minute to send in His cavalry. But this is what makes the Christian life exciting. A well-lived adventurous life is a witness to the unbelieving-world, plus it gives our heavenly audience (elect angels) something to cheer. The Lord is my light and salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 21:1

Gary RayburnI logged over 4 million miles as a truck driver from 1972 - 2007 and I have written a lot of it in my songs. God has taken me off the road and put me into full time ministry, but I still have a heart for all you drivers out there. Archives
