I Remember well the day I met Tony & Candy McMullen in a little Church in Springerton, IL. I had listened to the most powerful testimony I had ever heard in my life and I knew I just had to get it on a cassette tape and pass it out to whosoever on the road. I ask Tony after the service If I could use his testimony in our tape ministry and he said sure, it belongs to God not Tony Mac. He gave me a copy and I started duplicating it and we became friends and partners in ministry. Tony Mac would come to Illinois several times each year after that. Tony would always go anywhere he was asked to go to share his testimony. Tony Mac became my friend, my brother, my counselor, my mentor. This month’s CD we are dipping into the archives for a classic. We have a double portion blessing for you this month. Mike Adkins & Tony Mac McMullen was with us several years ago at Rig Ministries. This night was a real blessing and I know you will be blessed when you listen to these two anointed giants in the ministry. This month’s CD title is “Are You Listening?” Tony tells a story about a time long ago before refrigerators of how people used ice houses to preserve their food. Ice houses had thick walls, no windows, and a tightly fitting door. In winter, when streams and ponds were frozen, large blocks of ice were cut, hauled to the ice houses, and covered with sawdust. Often the ice would last well into the summer. Tony told about a man who lost a valuable watch in the ice house one day. He searched and searched but never found his watch. His fellow workers also came and searched, raking the sawdust but to no avail. While the workers were taking their lunch break a small boy slipped into the ice house and closed the door and soon he emerged with the watch. Amazed, the men asked, how in the world did you find that watch in there without any light. The boy replied I just laid down in the saw dust, and after a while I heard tick, tick, tick and I just kept moving toward the sound. The ticking got so loud that I finally just reached over and picked up the watch. When we are having a hard time hearing God speak, maybe we need to close the door and be still, and then we might just hear God speaking to us. After all, just as the watch was ticking the whole time everyone else was searching for it, so is our God always speaking to us. We just need to learn to do as the scripture says, “Be still and know that He is God.” God loves us and wants a personal relationship with each and every one of us. I know if we will slow down and get alone with God He has something He wants to show and tell us. We just might be surprised what direction God is trying to get us to go. Listen to this message and then listen to what God is saying to you! Tony would always say, when we go into the prisons we don’t pass the hat because if we did we wouldn’t get our hat back. So Free in Christ Ministries relies solely on folks like you and me to keep this very important ministry going. Since Tony Mac passed away in 2016 Free in Christ Ministries has been ran by Tony’s wife Candy Mac and his daughter Michelle Mac. Free in Christ Ministries has been hit hard by the Covid mandates, they have been having a hard time getting into the prisons to minister. They need your prayers and support... So today after you listen to this CD or podcast I ask you to find you a quiet place and close the door and pray, ask God, what would you have me give to Free in Christ Ministries. Your gift will help them continue reaching the people inside the prisons. The Scripture clearly tells us we can’t out give God. Paul says in 2nd Corinthians that he which soweth sparingly shall reap sparingly; but he who sows bountifully shall reap bountifully. Paul ask each of us in verse 7 to search our hearts, so we will not give grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver. and in verse 8 Paul says God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: verse nine says; As it is written, He has dispersed abroad; He hath given to the poor: His righteousness remains for ever. I pray you will be blessed and highly favored for your generosity. P.O. Box 252 Coweta, OK. 74429

August 13 1995 this was my prayer the day I got saved driving down the highway. Lord Use me, I don’t want to go and sit in a Church and do nothing, there has to be something I can do for your kingdom. Since that day God has used me in ways that I never would have thought or imagined. The Holy Spirit has gifted each believer for specific work in God’s kingdom. Scripture explains this idea by comparison with a human body: each person has gifts and purposes that make the entire system function well. Everyone can do something for Jesus. We can all play a part in Kingdom work. Jesus tells each one of us to “Go Ye Therefore.” This is a ministry anyone can get involved in by passing on our Lonesome Road cd’s to a family member, friend or neighbor. It’s called the Great Commission and can be found in Matthew chapter 28: 16-20. In Mark’s Gospel Jesus tells us “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” And in Luke's Gospel Jesus tells us “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things. Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.” And we find that power in the book of Acts written in red. Jesus tells us that we can have this power. In Acts Chapter 1:8 the Scripture tells us, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” In today’s language this verse says “But you shall receive power, after the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and you shall be witnesses unto me (Jesus) in your city, and in your State, and in your Country, and to the uttermost parts of the world.” God is looking for a place to happen, and he can happen in your life, your Church, your ministry when you say God here am I use me! The power of the Holy Spirit is ours for the asking, so ask God how He can use you. Just say “Here am I Lord, use Me.” You’ll be surprised if you will just ask. Bertis Knight was a true Mighty warrior of the faith. We are going to miss our friend Bertis but I know that he is walking those streets of Gold with Jesus by his side. We thank the Lord for the 83 wonderful years of life that he gave Bertis and we thank the Lord for the last 13 years that Bertis and Sandra have been a huge part of Lonesome Road Ministries. Bertis shared his testimony several years ago and the CD is titled “A Glimpse of Heaven.” If you have never heard it don’t worry, we will be sending it out as our September CD of the Month. Bert got a glimpse of Heaven 30 years ago but on July 13th, 2021, Bertis got to go home to heaven and is enjoying the perfection he got a glimpse of thirty years ago. Lord we thank you for allowing each one of us who knew Bertis to be able to call him friend. We thank you for your comfort and grace as you cover Bertis Knight’s family. We thank you God for your son Jesus Christ that it is through Him that we can have eternal life and a home in Heaven. We thank you for the anticipated reunion we will have in Heaven. We thank you for your Holy Spirit that will give us comfort, peace, strength to keep sharing the love of Jesus to all we come in contact with, So as it says it 2nd Corinthians Chapter 4 verse 16 – 18 therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is for a moment, is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen now are temporary but the things that are unseen are eternal. Back in the day of the Azusa Street revival, they didn’t seek after what God could do for them, they sought after God himself. They longed to feel the fire in their soul. We hear it preached from every pulpit in America, how we want to see revival, we want to see God move. Each and every one of us has said it, we want to see God move. Jesus Christ, when he walked this earth as a man, had been given the Holy Spirit without measure. That’s why he could say in John 9:5, ‘As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.’ Then on the day of Pentecost, after the Lord ascended to heaven, He fulfilled Joel’s prophecy of pouring out the Holy Spirit upon all flesh. The body of Christ was no longer the body of just one man, but is composed of all Christians. That is why the Lord can say to us Christians ‘Ye are the light of the World.’ That is why Jesus said in Matthew 5:13, ‘Ye are the salt of the earth.’ In other words, it is as John wrote in his 1st epistle, Chapter 4 and verse 17, ‘As Christ is, so are we in this world.’ Jesus said in John 17:18 ‘As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.’ In John 14:12 ‘Jesus said he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also, and greater works.’ We want to see the power of God fall from heaven. It fell and it fell on us! Only Christians can move out in the power of God and change someone’s life and be the light in someone’s dark world. We want to see God move? Let’s get moving! Let’s be that Church on the move, Let’s be a “Church on the Road’ everywhere we go let Jesus shine through you. If we truly do want to see a move of God, then we as Christians need to get moving! We are the light of the world! We are the salt of the earth! We are the body of Christ and it is up to us! The best way to start a revival is to start one in our homes, then let it spill out into our neighborhoods and from there across our city, state and country and into the uttermost parts of the world. Lonesome Road Ministries is proud to work closely with many ministries and Churches all across the Country planting Gospel seeds into the lives of family, friends, and neighbors. Linda and I want to thank all who has sown into this Ministry and we thank all who was in attendance at our 3 Fold Cord Conference this year. We hope to have CD’s of the Conference very soon. You can watch it on our Face Book Page www.facebook.com/GaryRayburnLonesomeRoad
We encourage you to use our CD’S, Bibles, Testimony Books, and now our new Gift Card as a seed to plant it into someone's life. A family member, a friend, a neighbor. OTHERS! Yes OTHERS, let this our motto be, help us to live for OTHERS, so that we might live for THEE !!! Our job is to sow the seed of God's word into as many lives as we can and He will make it grow! Remember God loves you and we do too! This is Chaplain Gary Rayburn and we will talk at you later. What If? What if every Church and Ministry was to get together for one cause, wonder what we could all do together? What if, all the Churches and Ministries got together and decided to win our City, our County and the surrounding area for Jesus. What if we put our denominations aside for one cause, one reason, to win our area for Jesus and to see souls saved, people healed, people changed. What if there was a way we could all work together and agree that people need Jesus in their lives? I wonder what would happen to our homes, schools and our community. It’s sad that it takes a tragedy or a storm of some kind to get people to pull together. The bible tells us a threefold cord is not easily broken. Jesus said; “A house divided against itself will not stand.” Together we can withstand the storms that are headed our way, divided we will fall. Well there is a storm going on right now and it is sweeping across America. We need to band together the Churches and Ministries in our area and win back our community. What if we started taking the Gospel and present it to people where they are, in their homes, workplace and wherever we run into whosoever. What if we handed them a cd, or a gospel tract? Jesus spoke about the power of agreement in Matthew 18:19: "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven." Don't put any limitation on this Scripture. Jesus says what He means. and means what He says. We can receive anything if we agree about it in prayer. The Bible says that one can put a thousand to flight, but two could put ten thousand to flight. If we work together in unity we can reach our area for Christ. The Closest motels will be in Mt. Vernon, IL. 17 miles west of Lonesome Road Ministries. We will begin Friday night at 5:30 pm with a meal followed by our meet & greet and a concert by James Payne at 7 pm. Saturday morning Breakfast from 07:30 to 09:30 and conference begins Saturday at 10 AM. We will have booth spaces outdoors under tents, so if you have a table bring it, and lawn chairs. there will be outdoor dining along as well as indoor dining. We might not reach everyone, but what about the ones we do reach. We can make a difference in someone’s life today! This will be our 8th Conference and our best ever so don’t miss out. Everyone is Invited to join us! We will be adding a new way to be a witness on the road. These will be for our friends who no longer have a CD player. These are gift cards we can hand out to people we come in contact with. Who doesn’t want to receive a free gift card? I don't know about you all, but my bags are packed. See you in Keenes! This Month CD / Podcast 1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Peculiar is a peculiar way for God to want us to be... I looked it up in the dictionary and the word itself means to be unusual, eccentric, and odd. But the dictionary also says peculiar has another meaning; belonging distinctively, exclusively to one person- being special and unique. I believe that is what God meant when He called us a peculiar people. God wants us to be sold out to Him, to be the called out ones of the Church! We are to take the Gospel message with us everywhere we go and share it with whosoever we can. It is time for us to be bold about our faith and to share it with others! This month’s CD is what it is going to take to wake America up! Hell is No Joke, This is some strong preaching and it’s time to wake up America. The Christians who are born again need to get a urgency in there walk. In 1963 one woman ( I won’t even mention her name) got the Bible thrown out of our public schools. Satan will use every means and anybody he can to destroy America. When the Bible was taken out of our schools, I believe that was the beginning of the take over of our children’s minds. We all sit in our living rooms and watch in horror as our streets in America are looted and wonder what can we do about it. It’s time for Christians to quit playing Church and be the Church. People do not want to hear about Jesus Christ, they want to see Jesus Christ. People are looking for someone who is real about their faith. Christians have been given the most powerful force in the universe. God sent His Holy Spirit to come live in each one of us when we are saved. The Holy Spirit empowers us to communicate, to be God’s light in someone’s dark world. We as Christians may be the only bible some people ever read. Each one of us can be Jesus to someone without hope. We may not be able to reach everyone, but we sure can make a difference to those we do reach. When we are saved we become a peculiar people. That doesn’t mean we have to be weird or crazy, but it does mean we are to be sold out to one person, and that one person is Jesus. We are special and unique and Jesus has a purpose and plan for our lives. God Gave you a fingerprint that no one else has so you could leave an imprint on others that no one else can! We have to reach out, or get out of our comfort zone. Christians are like rubber bands, God wants to stretch us and use us in ways we never thought or dreamed possible. Matthew 5 14-16 says “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. We are to be a light, shining the light of the Gospel message everywhere we go. It doesn’t matter if we are at Church, school, home, or work. We are to be witnesses to whosoever, whenever and wherever. Hide it under a bushel, NO! Let your light so shine, pointing OTHERS to Jesus! June 25,26, & 27 God’s peculiar people are going to get together for our 3 Fold Cord Conference at this Oasis in the desert to get filled up to overflowing of the Holy Spirit so that we can go out all across America splashing onto others that we come in contact with. Family, friends and neighbors who need Jesus in their lives. You are invited to come join us here at Lonesome Road Ministries new home here at 107 Sycamore St. Keenes, IL. 62851 Come join our family of God’s Peculiar people
This month's CD / Podcast1 Chronicles 4: 10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested. thirty.” Above is a picture of the back wall to our new sanctuary here at Lonesome Road Ministries. We are excited about our upcoming conference here at our new home. We have many folks signing up to be here June 25,26,& 27 so if you haven’t signed up then please do so. It is going to be one awesome weekend. I look back at the beginning of Lonesome Road Ministries 20 years ago when God called me to start a tape Ministry. I remember thinking there is no way that I could possibly do it. I even went as far as to try and pass it off to my pastor. I told him I think God is wanting us to start a tape ministry and he told me “that God never said anything to him about it. Maybe God wants you to start a tape ministry.” So I kept on praying and trying to figure out how someone like me could start a tape ministry. It wasn’t long after that my Sunday school class bought me the book Jabez Prayer. (It was a setup!) I got a hold of that prayer and started praying it everyday. I said “God if you did it for Jabez maybe you can do it for me. God use me to make a difference in the lives of Others!” There is no Limit to what God can do in our lives when we surrender to Him. We are living proof there is No limit to what God can do for you if you trust, believe, and follow Him in where He is leading you. God has more for us than we could ever dream or imagine, He wants to use us to reach our family, friends, our neighbors but we have to throw off our chains of doubt that are holding us back from reaching our potential in Christ. I hope you find encouragement from this month’s CD titled “No Limits.” I preached this message several years ago but I felt led to send this message out this month. The message and the music on this CD I pray will bless you and your family. The music on this CD is by our good friend Joe Arview a partner here at Lonesome Road Ministries. Joe is in a fight for his life right now. He has been diagnosed with colon cancer and will be having surgery on April 5th at St. Louis, Mo. We ask you all to keep Joe in your prayers and also if you could send Joe a note of encouragement. His mailing address is Joe Arview 5357 Orient Blacktop Rd. Benton, IL. 62812. Joe is busy working on his next CD project and it is going to be the very best CD he has put out to date. It would be an encouragement to Joe if you pre-ordered his new music or if you don’t have Joe’s music it would be a great time to order all his music. Please be in prayer for Joe and his family as they face this very difficult time. Joe knows there is nothing too hard for God! Several years ago I sent Joe one of the Jabez Prayer books and he and his family got a hold of this Jabez prayer and they have seen God perform many miracles in their lives. Joe’s wife Dee is a cancer survivor and we know God is going to bring Joe through this fiery furnace also. Joe is planning on being with us here at our Conference in June and then Joe will be traveling with me July 9 & 10 to Columbia City,Indiana to kick off a 3 day revival with Pastor Jeff Lewis and some awesome music by Joe Arview & Mark & Pam Harvey at New Beginnings Church at Big lake. The address is 6331 N. State Rd 109. Call Pastor Jeff Lewis @ 260.610.5133 for more info. From there Joe and I will be traveling up to Bellevue, MI. for a 10 am service July 11th in Washington Park Bellevue Michigan. This is an outdoor event so bring a lawn chair and come join us for a great day in the park. Brought to you by the Bellevue Baptist CD Ministry. Sunday night July 11 We will continue north for Good News Distribution, Seeds for the Harvest appreciation dinner in the park. The address is 3391 Wilson Ave SW Grandville. MI. Bruce Phelps 316-530-1717 christiantruckersministry@gmail.com This month's CD / PodcastMatthew 13: 23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” I am truly amazed as I sit here in my new office here at Lonesome Road Ministries. I think back to 1995 when I first got saved and started this journey. I remember a sermon that my first pastor Russ Beadles preached from Matthew chapter 13 the parable of the sower. Pastor Russ explained it so well how the sower who went forth sowing seeds. When he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside, and the birds came and devoured them up. Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth, the plants sprang up quickly, but they soon wilted beneath the hot sun and died because the root had no nourishment in the shallow ground. Other seeds fell among the thorns that shot up and choked out the tender blades. But some seed fell on fertile ground and produced a crop that was thirty, sixty, and even a hundred times as much that was planted. Here are the words that stood out in my mind that day. Pastor Russ Said, “You are that ground, you get to choose, which ground are you going to be?” I thought to myself, well that’s a no brainer! I want to be that fertile ground. So I prayed that day, Lord if I get to choose, then make me that fertile ground. Lord use me to make a difference everywhere I go. I want to produce fruit for your Kingdom. That was over 25 years ago and God has answered that prayer I prayed. I could have never dreamed or expected what God has done in our lives. God spoke to me to start a tape ministry in 1999 and after struggling with the thought that I wasn’t capable I finally realized that I wasn’t, but He is! God can mold you into something that He can use if you just surrender to what He is calling you to do. October 2000 Lonesome Road Ministries was born. I have had the chance to pray for so many that are out on that Ole Lonesome Road and I have had the opportunity to lead many to the Lord over those 25 years. We are going to need new carpet, sanctuary chairs, and sound system installed before we can have our conference in June. So many of you have planted your seeds in this fertile ground and we have been able to purchase this property and remodel the offices, media room, fellowship hall and the kitchen. We still need your help, support, and prayers as we finish the sanctuary by June so that we can have our conference. God has made Lonesome Road Ministries that fertile ground that I prayed for in 1995. Now God is raising this ministry up to even higher ground by giving us this new home to house the ministry. God is creating an Oasis in the desert for all those who are weary and carrying heavy burdens. God is creating a place where they can come to get the living water that is needed to sustain them. That Living water is Jesus Christ. Last month we showed you pictures of some of the rooms that we have completed. Good news, we have started working on the sanctuary. This is going to be a big project, as you can see we are painting and taking up the old carpet. We had a Church, Kingdom Life Christian Center in North Carolina donate 70 chairs and a portable sound system which will work perfectly in our fellowship hall. We have set the dates June 25,26,27 for our 8th 3 Fold Cord Conference. The Address is 107 Sycamore Street in Keenes, Il. which is on route 15, 3 miles east of my home town of Wayne City, iL. And just 17 miles west of Mt. Vernon, IL. which is where the closest motels will be located. This year we are asking for each one of you who plan to attend to call us at 618.383.2107 and pre-register so that we can get an idea of how much grub we need to prepare. . Everyone is Welcome. You can also log on to our website and register or just send us a registration form back in by mail. We want to hear from you!
Luke 4 verse 18 & 19
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Good news friends 2021 is the acceptable year of the Lord!!! God is looking for a place to Happen! He is looking for willing vessels to fill up with His Spirit so that those vessels can pour out on OTHERS!
In the Scriptures, David was discounted by his family, and his job as a shepherd was considered insignificant. Even his own family looked on the outside when they looked at David but God only looks at the heart. And what God saw in David was a man after God's own heart. What God saw when he looked at David was a heart who loved God so much that he didn't complain, get bitter, or quit, no matter how tough the going got. In 1 Samuel 16 verse 7 says For the Lord does not see as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. The Spirit of the Lord is upon all those who choose to be a person after God's own heart! God is looking to anoint those to preach the gospel to the poor, to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set those free that are bruised. I believe God has anointed this new home of Lonesome Road Ministries to be a place where those who are lost, hurting, confused, bruised, and blind can come and find the liberty that they so desperately are looking for. Not only that, I believe that God is wanting to anoint you, those who are a person after God's heart to be that vessel on the road or in your home town to preach the Gospel to all who will have an ear to hear. That doesn't mean you have to start a church where you are because wherever you are you are the Church. The best sermon you could ever preach is your own testimony of how God brought you out of the darkness into His marvelous light. It's time for all of us to step into the next level that God is trying to raise us up too. God has brought us all together to be a family, and together we can do more than we ever thought or dreamed possible. God has given Lonesome Road Ministries a new home! He has anointed this place to be a special place that we can come to fill our vessels up to overflowing. Then we can go out and pour out His Spirit onto OTHERS all across this Country. Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Together we can make a difference to our family, friends and neighbors. We are starting to make plans for our 3 Fold cord conference the last weekend in June 2021. Mark your calendars, set your vacations for June 25,26,27 for our 8th 3 Fold Cord Conference. This year it will be held at Lonesome Road Ministries new headquarters at 107 Sycamore St. Kennes, IL. 62851. We invite you to come on in anytime and check out your new home here at Lonesome Road Ministries. |
Gary RayburnI logged over 4 million miles as a truck driver from 1972 - 2007 and I have written a lot of it in my songs. God has taken me off the road and put me into full time ministry, but I still have a heart for all you drivers out there. Archives
